    Sales Associate

    Job Purpose Statement

    The role holder will work towards guaranteeing adequate supply of feedstock for production purposes as well as achieve set briquette sales targets.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Research, identify and acquire suitable feedstocks for production purposes
    • Maintain a functional and fully updated sales pipeline with clear target volume ramp up month on month
    • Actively seek feedback and collect data from both prospects and leads in order to plan, implement and sustain sales targets.
    • Collect sufficient information from engagements with prospects/leads to calculate the cost of the problem in order to come up with sales proposals
    • Meet sales targets per quarter as agreed on.
    • Track challenges while selling and suggest improvement projects, escalate to the manager any issues that he/she is not able to resolve 
    • Monitor patterns and trends in sales related issues that come up from time to time and identify lasting solutions to resolve them
    • Conduct market research with the intention of better understanding clients, competitors and the market.
    • Increase internal understanding of the clients by accurate tracking and forecasting key metrics. 
    • Optimize all aspects of sales operations, including customer acquisition, distribution, payment collection, and after-sales service to maximize profitability.
    • Work with the Customer Success associates to ensure customers are fully satisfied with deliberate actions to guarantee value addition.
    • Work with Logistics and Distribution to ensure timely delivery of product

    Key Result Areas

    • Ensure 80% of sales targets are achieved.
    • Track and forecast accurately all sales operational metrics 
    • Maintain and run projects to improve and sustain feedstock supply
    • Ensure 100% collection on revenue month on month
    • Maintain a fully functional and update sales pipeline
    • Ensure 90% retention of customers through after sales service

    Key Qualifications

    • Degree or higher level education in an Business related course 
    • Previous experience in significantly scaling up sales 
    • >1 years’ experience in consultative B2B selling 
    • Aptitude for numbers and data-driven decision-making 
    • Knowledge of renewable energy (briquettes) sales market for large factories preferred or ability to learn technical knowledge quickly 
    • Coachable – a desire to learn, constantly improve, and act on feedback
