    Sales Team Leader

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Enhance and implement agriBORA's sales strategy, including sales plans, targets, and expense budgets, ensuring the required growth of the business in Kenya while evaluating and managing financial risks effectively.
    • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of key competitors' offers and adjust or develop the sales strategy accordingly.
    • Collaborate with the business development team to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction, generate revenue, and achieve long-term account goals in line with the company's vision and values.
    • Manage and lead a team of sales agronomists, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure their success.
    • Work closely with the Communications & Marketing teams and other functions to ensure appropriate customer segmentation and effectively communicate value offers as part of the field support program.
    • Contribute to the development of marketing and merchandising programs, monitor their execution, measure their impact, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
    • Oversee sales budgeting and product forecasting for both input and output products, ensuring accurate planning and resource allocation.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to implement a comprehensive annual sales plan, resulting in consistent growth in customer numbers, volume, revenue, and profitability.
    • Develop an annual budget/P&L cascading goals for each agriHUB and individual in the team, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely procurement and availability of products and services.
    • Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure compliance with agreed service levels and financial credit terms, managing risks, and controlling collections and receivables effectively.
    • Own the company sales targets and work on 100% achievement of the set targets through the sales agronomists by ensuring the sales agronomists are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skill to enable them to deliver results.
    • Coordinate input and output deliveries to and from agriHUBS, collaborating with the finance team in selecting suppliers and transport providers, and establishing efficient onboarding processes for new providers aligned with agriBORA's policies and procedures.
    • Ensure that all sales go through the agriPOS system and agriWALLET.

    Other duties as assigned by the senior management team.

    The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business,Sales, Marketing or a related field from a reputable institution, demonstrating strong academic ability.
    • Sales Experience: Proven track record of at least 3 years in sales in the agriculture sector, with a demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed targets.
    • Smallholder Farmers Experience: At least 2 years of relevant working experience with smallholder farmers and grassroots agribusinesses in a rural context, showcasing a good understanding of the challenges and opportunities of working with these stakeholders
    • Strategic Thinking: End-to-end thinking and a solutions-oriented mindset to evaluate the entire logistics process, from procurement to delivery, and identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance overall efficiency.
    • Customer Service and Planning: Good understanding of customer service principles and planning processes to ensure customer needs and expectations are met while efficiently managing logistics operations.
    • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and internal teams. Strong communication abilities will aid in managing and leading the sales & logistics team effectively.
    • Leadership and Team Management: Proven experience in leading and managing a sales team, with strong leadership skills to inspire, motivate, and support team members in achieving common goals.
    • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to interpret and analyze data to drive insights and inform decision-making.
    • Adaptability and Travel: Flexibility and willingness to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, where priorities may change quickly. The candidate should also be open to travel within the country as needed.
