The School Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes and menus. Ensuring that meals are cooked to a high standard, paying attention to food safety, quality, and presentation.
The Cook plays a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of the kitchen, assisting with meal planning, and adhering to hygiene and safety regulations.
Job Description
Following standard recipes and portion control to maintain consistency.
Following health and safety regulations, including food handling and storage.
Maintaining proper sanitation of kitchen equipment and workstations.
Assisting in the daily setup and breakdown of the kitchen, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining kitchen equipment.
Monitoring stock levels and informing the Head Cook of any shortages or necessary replenishments.
Working collaboratively with other kitchen staffs to ensure that meals are prepared and served on time.
Maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety, ensuring compliance with health regulations and school policies.
Monitoring portions to ensure they align with the school's standards and dietary requirement.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
Diploma in Catering, food production or a related field.
Valid health certificate
Above one year on the same position.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in food preparation and cooking techniques
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
