    Senior Business Development Lead

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    We are pleased to announce a vacancy for a Senior Business Development Lead within the Public Sector Digital Transformation department under the CEO’s Office 

    Reporting to the Director; Public Sector Digital Transformation, the role holder will support growth of Key Public Sector Business opportunities. we are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Senior business development Lead within the Public Sector Digital Transformation unit. The responsibilities of the role holder will include Identification of Business Opportunities, planning and driving engagements on key business development opportunities within the Public Sector Space. Further the Lead will work with various commercial teams within Safaricom to address the opportunities identified including Product development or matching existing Products and services with the opportunity

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Public Sector Business Development

    • Develop and Grow Safaricom’s Public Sector Business for All Sectors of National and devolved Government.
    • Develop and operationalize a go to market Framework that continuously ensures collaboration between Public Sector digital Transformation, EBU, CBU and channels.
    • Generate new business opportunities through market research and analysis.
    • Build and maintaining relationships with key government leaders and development Partners.
    • Negotiate and close identified business opportunity within the Public Sector.
    • Ensure top level client experience in all interactions from follow up to delivery and needs assessment.
    • Attract, as well as retain Key Public sectors by developing highly creative outreach strategies.
    • Collaboratively work with EBU, CBU and Channels towards revenue generation and sales growth goals.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in sales or Business  related fields.
    • 7 years in client relationship management, professional services, business development,or B2B sales
    • Strong leadership capability Strong relationship management skills.
    • Ability to grow and maintain relationship with any individual, irrespective of the background and type of personality
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong creativity and critical thinking abilities
    • Ability to work with recent technological applications relating to daily tasks
    • Understanding of Government Policies,  processes and Government cycles Know-how
    • Project and Programme Management
    • Products, Services, Solutions and  Technology Knowledge. 
    • Business Development & Planning
    • Solution Selling and articulation
    • Negotiation skills
    • Service Quality and Planning
