    Senior Contract Recruiter

    Project Description/Terms of Reference

    Conservation International is seeking a short-term consultant for the role of Senior Contract Recruiter. The Senior Contract Recruiter will be responsible for managing the recruitment cycle for Conservation International’s (CI) Africa portfolio. They will review applications and conduct proactive sourcing for at least 30 positions on CI’s new Green Climate Fund Botswana country program and regional programs in Africa. This is a consulting role focused on recruiting local nationals in Botswana, Madagascar, and Kenya.

    Objectives, Deliverables & Key Tasks

    • Conduct sourcing of passive candidates for key roles in the Africa portfolio through social media channels and creative networking (referrals, internet mining, etc.).
    • Define recruitment sourcing strategy for each role based on the labor market or geographic focus.
    • Review applications and assess candidate qualifications against criteria.
    • Conduct interviews, prepare notes and make recommendations to hiring managers on candidate shortlist.
    • Schedule panel interviews and organize feedback from interviewers.
    • Provide regular reports to hiring managers and CIPO supervisors on a timely basis regarding status relating to all positions; including outreach and response for each position as needed.
    • Ensure that candidates are within salary ranges for specific positions and markets and that they understand the compensation package during the interview process.
    • Facilitate the transition of all communication and documentation to the Africa HR Business Partner for onboarding and orientation purposes.

    Working Conditions

    • This position is based in any of these locations: United States, Botswana, Kenya, or South Africa.
    • The contract is expected to begin on Jan 15, 2022, for a duration of 4-5 months. Full-time (35 hours a week) is preferred. Part-time arrangements will be considered.
    • No travel is required.
    • For the health and safety of our employees, their families, and our community, all US-based Conservation International staff are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. This mandatory vaccine requirement applies to all staff working remotely, in a hybrid work arrangement, and on-site in CI US offices. Effective January 4, 2022, new hires will be required to provide proof of full vaccination with a government-approved vaccine as a condition for employment. Requests for reasonable accommodations or exceptions related to medical or religious reasons will be considered. Candidates are NOT required to state their COVID-19 vaccine status in their application.

    Requirements

    • 5 years of experience in talent acquisition/recruitment. Experience in the international development industry or conservation preferred. Bachelor’s degree in international affairs, economics, or social sciences preferred.
    • Experience conducting searches on recruitment databases, social media, and relevant industry websites to proactively identify talent. High degree of resourcefulness in identifying candidates for niche skills.
    • Strong interviewing skills and ability to provide insightful, nuanced verbal and written feedback on candidate suitability.
    • Understanding of compliance requirements and best practices for recruitment and hiring.
    • Outstanding communication (verbal and written), presentation, and diplomacy skills.
    • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information professionally and discreetly.
    • Experience working with an applicant tracking system (ATS) or customer relationship management software.
    • Fluent English language skills are required. French proficiency is a plus.

    Resulting Agreement

    CI anticipates entering into a services agreement with the selected candidate. Any resulting agreement will be subject to the terms and conditions of CI’s Services Agreement. A model form of agreement can be provided upon request.
