Senior Corporate/Retail Credit Analyst – Credit Underwriting Team at SBM Bank

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Team Leader – Credit Underwriting Team, the Senior Credit Analyst will be responsible for the assessments and reviews of credit requests and for the approval of credit requests up to the delegated authority.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess credit worthiness of clients
• Review credit proposals for different line of business; Retail or Corporate following assessment by credit analysts
• Approve requests within delegated authority
• Articulate recommendation in a clear, concise and informed manner where applicable to higher authorities for approval
• Adhere to all internal policies and procedures and regulatory guidelines
• Provide feedback to Risk Management Team on changes to credit policies
• Attend the Credit Underwriting Team Forum
• Review sanction letters/other reports submitted to different Committees
• Actively monitor the TAT for all credit requests
• Adhere to high ethical standards, and comply with all regulations/applicable laws
• Liaise with other Divisions to ensure sufficient level of support and feedback
• Perform any other ad hoc duties as required

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• University degree in Banking/Economics/Accounting/Finance or any other relevant qualifications
• At least 5 years’ relevant experience in the banking/financial field preferably in credit assessment
• Sound knowledge of lending practices, procedures and products
• Detail oriented with strong analytical and technical skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills in a team oriented environment
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
