Senior Engineer, Cyber Prevent and Defence at Safaricom Kenya

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Cyber Prevent and Defense, the successful candidate will support in day to day operations and maintenance of Cyber Security services to ensure high availability and support to the business. He /she will provide technical security expertise and 2nd level support to staff and teams to ensure the efficient use of services. He or she will be responsible for managing critical cyber security programs across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to excellent standards of work to achieve cyber security strategy and roadmap.
• Implementation, management, compliance, and optimization of Cyber Security policies, baselines, standards, and processes in order to improve posture.
• Implementation, management and optimization of controls to mitigate cyber risks, and audit findings (Internal and External).
• Serve as the point of contact and escalation point for cyber security administration tasks: provisioning and deprovisioning, installation, maintenance, support, troubleshooting and incidents management in conjunction with the incident management team.
• Ensure management and maturity.
• Participate in change management, continuous improvement and documentations around cyber security processes and procedures.
• Ensure management and maturity of patching and vulnerability management program.
• Ensure coverage, adequacy and KPIs of endpoint security controls are met and continually approved.
• Ensure agreed support SLAs are met with respective cyber security vendors.
• Provide 2nd level support to staff and contractors for better experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Electrical Engineering/ Computer Science/Information Technology
• At least 1 Information Security Certification: e.g. CISSP/CISM/CISA/OSCP/CEH.
• IT Networking Certifications: CCNA/CCNP/CCIE (with a Security option) will be an added advantage.
• At least 2 years proven experience in IT Networks and/or Systems Administration.
• At least 2 years proven experience in implementing and administering cyber security solutions.
• At least 2 years proven experience with endpoint and network security solutions.
• Working knowledge of databases, web applications, big data, cloud /virtualization, microservices technologies.
• Analytical, problem-solving skills and customer focus.
• Good report writing and communication skills.
