    Senior Finance Business Partner, Corporate & Investment Banking

    Job Purpose:

    The role includes establishment and reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for the Corporate & Investment Banking units to aid in decision Making and the monitoring of products, channels and segments profitability.

    Key responsibilities include;

    Financial Management and Analysis

    • Influence decision makers and advise managers on financial processes, control measures, budgets and financial performance.
    • Perform in depth and more advanced analyses demonstrating the way in which financial ratios, trends, business and value drivers interact
    • Building, analyzing and interpret numerical and non-numerical data to determine potential risk exposure and statistical inferences to inform business decisions

    Strategic Planning and Supporting

    • Formulate objectives and priorities and implement plans consistent with the long-term interests of the segments in a global environment. The ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities and manage risks.
    • Understanding the line-of-sight between strategy and segment implementation and translating the organizational strategy into specific decisions and actions to ensure the strategy implementation.
    • Aligns resources to effectively execute against the strategic direction.

    Drive Delivery of Results

    • Proactively identify business opportunities or barriers to business performance and addresses them and take accountability for improving the business.
    • Demonstrates a sense of urgency around the achievement of stretching business goals.

    Financial and Accounting Control

    • Design control measures and checks in accounting and financial processing activities to mitigate risks of errors, omissions and fraud.

    Managing key internal and external relationships

    • Fostering relationships that benefit the Segments as well as an individual’s effectiveness and efficiency. More specifically, contacting others and strengthening relationships.

    Product Management

    • Review & maintain NIR mapping & product structure blueprints on a regular basis & alignment by country, by collaborating & leveraging from product teams to understand pricing, volumes & use information to provide financial analysis & insight
    • Identify & develop new product structures to be set up & facilitate the process implementation by supporting Segments, specifically regarding new accounting initiatives & business case template support.

    Technology & Architecture

    • Identify GAPs in product automated mapping that will improve the financial & MIS reporting capabilities, working with GBM & core banking teams, initiate recommendations for improvement & manage the implementation of recommendations.

    Cost management and control

    • Champion cost management and control by benchmarking information against competitors and creating more effective cost controls.
    • Identify and undertake cost reduction initiatives to achieve the strategic Cost to Income Ratio (CTIR).
    • Constantly review and periodically revise, in conjunction with business units, profit/cost allocation rates.

    Compliance

    • Responsible for the implementation and adoption within department of all compliance, Anti-money laundering and sanctions related requirements contained in policies, procedures and processes. This includes the engagement in instances where no adverse information is available.

    Qualification and Experience:

    • First Degree in Finance & Accounting
    • CPA (K) or ACCA
    • Preferable - Masters Degree in Business Commerce/Finance & Accounting
    • 5 - 7 years’ Experience in advising business leaders on the financial aspects of their decision making process, preferably in a financial services environment
