Senior Information & Communication Technology Officer - 2 Positions at Kenya Agricultural & Livestock Research Organization

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities will entail:

• Developing and implementing ICT systems and standards;
• Carrying out feasibility studies for areas to be computerized;
• Evaluating systems and ensuring adherence to established performance standards;
• Maintaining primary and disaster recovery data centers;
• Ensuring work and changes to the ICT infrastructure components are undertaken;
• Administering and maintaining LAN & WAN;
• Compiling progress reports on the operations of ICT systems;
• Ensuring compliance with database vendor license agreement;
• Controlling and monitoring user access to the databases;
• Optimizing the performance of the databases; and
• Planning for backup and disaster recovery systems

Job Requirements

• Served in the grade of Information Communication Technology Officer I for a minimum period of three (3) years;
• Bachelors in any of the following disciplines:- Computer Science; Information Science; Information Technology; Business Information Technology, or any equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Masters degree in any of the following disciplines:- Computer Science; Information Science; Information Systems; Information Technology; Business Information Technology, or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE); Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
• Certificate in Management Course lasting not less than three (3) weeks from a recognized institution;
• High integrity and high professional standards;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Showed merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
• Fulfilled the requirements of chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
