Senior Investment Analyst / Associate at Old Mutual Kenya

The Role:

We are seeking a talented individual to join the team to provide a support function for deal analysis, execution and monitoring specifically within the climate finance market.  

Key Responsibilities

• Development and interpretation of project finance models, platform company models, and fund models, including use of VBA macros
• Financial analysis, review of financial statements and valuations
• Support for deal identification and origination
• Sector research and analysis
• Input and analysis of potential financing structures
• Assisting in the scoping and coordination of due diligence
• Identification and escalation of any relevant transaction dynamics in order to achieve execution outcomes
• Preparation of bid and transaction documentation and presentations
• Development and refinement of investment committee papers and slide decks
• Production of written reports
• Development of sound relationships with key project stakeholders at the pan-African, national, local and utility levels, including with project sponsors and shareholders

Required Skills & Experience

• A financial degree or equivalent with excellent academic track record
• 3+ years’ experience within a Big Four, Investment Banking (M&A, corporate finance or project finance), Financial Advisory, Private Equity, Management Consulting or Energy sector corporates
• Strong financial modelling skills
• Strong slide creation skills
• Strong people skills, with maturity to interact with senior stakeholders internal and external
• Financial acumen – the capacity to demonstrate knowledge of and insight into financial principles and processes and identify inconsistencies in data
• Ability to apply sound business judgment and an analytical, pragmatic and creative approach to problem solving
• Desktop research capability
• Technically proficient (Advanced) in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AI tools
• Project/process management
