The Senior Lecturer – Medical Surgical Nursing will collaborate closely with the Head of Department, contributing to our department's key performance indicators and helping us achieve the university's inspiring mission and vision. Key Responsibilities

• Teach and train in the fields of Nursing and Midwifery Sciences.
• Develop and review curricula.
• Engage in grant writing, research, and innovation activities.
• Participate in departmental fundraising activities.
• Supervise and mentor students.
• Mentor junior staff members.
• Publish research findings and disseminate knowledge through various channels.
• Participate in professional development activities.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance and accreditation requirements set by relevant regulatory bodies.
• Support the Head of Department and other program leaders in managing the ongoing strategic development and administration of programs within the department.
• Assess students' overall performance by setting and marking assignments, conducting practical sessions, supervising fieldwork, and evaluating examinations, while providing appropriate feedback.
• Undertake any other duties assigned by the Head of Department, on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, as needed.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a PhD in Nursing (Medical Surgical Nursing) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
• Evidence of peer-reviewed publications, with a minimum of 28 points earned since being appointed as a lecturer or senior lecturer.
• Registration with relevant professional bodies is required.

Required Experience

• A minimum of three (3) years of full-time teaching experience at the university level as a lecturer, or at least six (6) years of industry experience in the relevant field.
• Experience supervising at least three (3) postgraduate students to completion as a lecturer.
• Familiarity with quality assurance and accreditation requirements of relevant regulatory organizations; ability to contribute to program accreditation and quality control processes.
• Experience in grant writing and a demonstrated ability to lead research projects, secure funding, and generate income are a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Evidence of active participation in research activities.
• Demonstrated capability in fundraising.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• High level of integrity.
• Ability to develop ideas for generating income and promoting the subject area.
• Marketing capabilities are desirable.
