    Senior Manager, RSR, AME

    JOB SUMMARY

    • Are you passionate about risk management? Do you thrive on analysing complex data and providing valuable insights to senior management? We are seeking a talented and driven Enterprise Risk Manager to join our AME Risk Team. You will play a pivotal role in assessing and analysing the resilience of our organization to potential market fluctuations as well as role in implementing robust risk management strategies.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Act as the local contact for Stress Testing and Risk Appetite matters within the region and embed best practices in countries within AME region by establishing pragmatic processes 
    • Support the Chief Risk Officers ("CROs") on stress testing and scenario analysis as ICAAP, Climate Risk 
    • Enhance stress testing methodologies by staying abreast of industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Contribute to the development and improvement of stress testing frameworks, models, and tools
    • Review and challenge Stress testing results and scenarios
    • Oversee risk appetite review and monitoring
    • Provide analytic support and insights to the Risk teams across AME region 
    • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, legal, and compliance, to gather data, validate assumptions, and integrate risk management practices into business operations. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop risk awareness and promote a risk-conscious culture.
    • Support training initiatives for both the 1st line and 2nd line to encourage data driven decision in BAU risk management and improve the knowledge on Enterprise Risk Management Framework

    Strategy

    • Improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of risk management processes within Enterprise Risk Management team for AME region
    • Partner with countries across AME to identify challenges and provide solutions to meet their regulatory commitments on various ERM initiatives and help to better manage risks. 
    • Contribute to strategic Group projects and interact with various stakeholders including but not limited to Data Strategy, Business, Technology and Risk teams, ERM Centres of Excellence, Senior Management of the Development Group

    Processes

    • Provide expertise in migrating PoC projects to productionise in collaboration with various teams 
    • Deliver timely while ensuring compliance to applicable Group standards and policies.

    • Help to build the appropriate culture and values.  Work collaboratively with all relevant partners.

    Risk Management

    • Identify, assess, and prioritize risks across the organization, considering operational, financial, regulatory, and strategic factors. Develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies and action plans to minimize potential negative impact
    • Develop appropriate ORF controls that will allow us to provide assurance on data, and analytic processes.

    Governance

    • Provide timely and high-quality responses to both internal and external queries and requests. 
    • Keep abreast and address home and host regulatory changes relating to models. 
    • Ensure that material risk exposures and related issues are reported to the responsible risk governance committees.

    • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.     • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

     Our Ideal Candidate

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, finance, computer science or a related discipline
    • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and Banking regulations; in-depth understanding of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF)
    • Solid understanding of advanced mathematical concepts and statistical techniques. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or SAS. 
    • Hands-on experience in handling Risk and Finance data and best practices in data management and analysis
    • Strong analytical mindset with excellent analytical, logical, reasoning and problem-solving skills.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

    Role Specific Technical Competencies

    • Proficiency in SQL/SAS/R/Python or other statistical tool
    • Stress testing, risk appetite and other ERMF principle
    • Data analysis and Reporting
    • Regulatory framework in AME as well as PRA related to Credit , Stress testing, Model Risk
    • Analytical thinking and problem solving skills
    • Communications skills -Capacity to understand complex analytical and translate to non technical audience
