    Senior Officer, Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation

    SENIOR OFFICER, PLANNING, MONITORING & EVALUATION GRADE: KSL 5 REF: KSL/HR09/2023 1 POSITION

    Overall purpose of the job

    • Reporting to the Assistant Director, Human Resource and Administration, the incumbent will implement effective strategies for planning, monitoring and evaluation to achieve the School’s strategic objectives.

    Job Description
    The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail: –

    • Participating in the preparation of the departments work plan and budget.
    • Preparing Monitoring and Evaluation work plan.
    • Participating in the development of performance contracts.
    • Participating in preparation of periodic monitoring reports for performance contract and strategic planning implementation.
    • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
    • Preparing drafts for performance contracts and evaluation reports.
    • Participating in formulation of the strategic plan in consultation with key stakeholders.
    • Carrying out monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the strategic plan, work plans and performance contracts.
    • Participate formulation and review of the procedure and policy documents.
    • Assisting in the preparation of the departmental budget.
    • Assisting in identification of departmental Key Performance Indicators, cost and implications.
    • Developing templates and formats for reporting, complete with guidelines.
    • Undertaking Surveys, Data Entry and analysis.
    • Participate in updating of the strategic policy initiatives and government priorities in line with MTPF guidelines.
    • Participate in performance reviews for all the departments to determine the level of departmental performance as compared to the targets.
    • Participate in the departmental policy reviews.
    • Participate in carrying out impact assessment studies.
    • Initiate communications on the findings of the monitoring process and participate in the follow up for corrective action.
    • Participate in the preparation of quarterly implementation status reports for each financial year.
    • Assisting in the identifications of funding opportunities.
    • Assisting in development of funding proposals and concept notes.
    • Assisting in mobilizing non-financial resources from partners.
    • Developing an internal resource map.
    • Organizing donor engagement meetings.

    Persons’ Specifications
    To qualify for this position, the applicant must have: –

    • At least Four (4) years’ relevant work experience in public or private sector.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
    • Relevant professional qualification.
    • Membership to relevant professional body in good standing.
    • Demonstrated results in work performance.
    • Proficiency in Computer Applications.
    • Meet requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya.
    • Attendance of a Supervisory Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks.
