Duties and responsibilities will entail:

• Fabricating production machines, equipment, parts and spare parts,
• Planning installation of machines and equipment;
• Carrying out mechanical works;
• Testing of machines and equipment regarding its functionality in the factory;
• Undertaking inventory of machines, equipment, parts and spare parts and tools;
• Carrying out general maintenance of equipment and machines;
• Requisitioning for materials, parts and machine parts for use;
• Maintaining schedules for staff; and
• Reporting on machine and equipment break downs for action.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-

• A cumulative work experience of six (6) years, three (3) of which should have been as a Production Engineer I or its comparable position in the public or private sector;
• Bachelors Degree in any of the following Engineering disciplines: Mechanical, or other relevant qualifications from a recognized institution;
• Registration by Engineers Board of Kenya as a Professional Engineer;
• Valid Annual Practicing License from the Engineers Board of Kenya;
• Membership with Institute of Engineers of Kenya;
• Supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution.
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
• Proficiency in computer application.
