Job Description
Terms of service: Permanent and pensionable.

Reporting to the Manager, Seed Production.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

• Identification and Recruitment of seed growers to achieve set seed production targets.
• Distribution of basic seed to all contracted farms and approved seed growers.
• Supervision of farm operations to optimize yields.
• Undertaking timely inspection of crops and advising farmers at various stages in accordance with best agronomic practices.
• Registration of seed crops with KEPHIS.
• Collection and compiling of seed production data.
• Drafting of periodic work progress reports.
• Supervising seed harvesting and delivery to the processing plant.

Minimum requirements
Requirements for Appointment.
For appointment to this grade, one must have:

• Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics or equivalent qualification.
• At least four (4) years relevant work experience;
• Supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution;
• Proficiency in computer applications;
• Membership in good standing to a relevant professional body.
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work in stressful and strenuous environment.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Must have valid driving license.
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution.
