    Senior Project Manager

    MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Project Management (30%)

    • Effectively engages the key partners, including  CHS, the prime awardee, NTLP, county governments, and remains responsive to their requests to ensure alignment during project implementation.
    • Ensures efficiency and effectiveness during project implementation. This includes adherence to the project scope, budget and timelines as per the approved work plan.
    • Remains informed and knowledgeable of the project environment, the network of stakeholders, constituents, and counterparts, and ensures skillful management of these relationships.
    • Works closely with the Senior Global Project Manager in regards to internal coordination and linkages required to achieve technical and administrative management objectives.
    • Drafts high quality monthly and quarterly progress reports, and other contractual deliverables, and ensures timely submission to the Prime as per the terms of the Sub-award agreement.
    • Works closely with the Finance Manager to ensure timely submission of high quality Monthly and Quarterly Financial reports as per the terms of the Sub-award agreement.
    • Supervises and provides guidance to the TB Supply Chain and Pharmacovigilance Technical Advisor.
    • Ensures achievements of indicators as described in the Monitoring and Evaluation Framework

    Technical  Leadership (40%)

    Provide in-country technical oversight and actively participate in activities implantation to    achieve the following program objectives:

    • Pharmaceutical management systems strengthening for TB
    • Enhance data for decision making
    • Capacity building for NTLP
    • Active drug safety monitoring
    • Strengthen post-market surveillance
    • Support interoperability of pharmacovigilance reporting system
    • Health systems strengthening
    • Organization capacity assessment and resource mobilization
    • Develop (update and adapt as needed) and execute Monitoring and evaluation framework, technical strategy, annual work plans as per sub-award agreement
    • Provide direct technical leadership and technical assistance, at national and county levels not limited to training, for the implementation of the MSH workplan on Tamatisha
    • Monitor the quality of technical support provided by MSH team members
    • Develop and review quarterly and annual reports
    • Ensure appropriate and timely documentation and dissemination of key results and deliverables for maximum project impact and business development using a variety of communication strategies and media as may be approved by the Prime awardee.

    Project Results Management (25%):

    • The Program Manager is responsible for achieving required project results through effective project planning and management, technical advising, administration and oversight, monitoring and evaluation and donor relationship management.
    • Holds primary accountability for the achievement of results, ensuring quality of services is maintained at the highest standards, and that all project objectives and deliverables are met.
    • Safeguards MSH’s reputation by ensuring that financial, contractual, technical, and political integrity is maintained and strengthened.
    • Ensure project staffing, structure and reporting relationship are aligned with project needs, local context and available resources.
    • Manages and mentors the project team as per MSH policies and guidelines and implements an effective performance-management program including regular check-ins, annual appraisals, supportive supervision, rewards, training, coaching and career development support.

    Business Development (5%)

    • Identify and keep track of new business opportunities, communicating them to the relevant internal MSH stakeholders.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • MD, MPH, or master's degree in health related field;
    • 8+ years of progressively responsible and related experience in public health program leadership and management
    • Relevant and related work experience with international development project management and a public health programming
    • Demonstrated successful experience in the management of USAID or other donor projects with a focus on TB prevention and care, and/or pharmaceutical systems strengthening.
    • Significant relevant experience in pharmaceutical management systems development and/or supply chain management strengthening in Kenya highly preferred
