    Senior Project Officer – Gender and Inclusion

    Key Performance Areas Project Management

    • Carry out implementation of the project activities as per approved project documents and existing Fairtrade Africa policies, procedures, and donor requirements/guidelines.
    • Conduct periodic monitoring of project and operational activities for effectiveness of results and milestones set forth in the project documents.
    • Provide project updates and reports using approved templates and in linewith donor requirements.
    • Organize and coordinate project meetings including stakeholder and participate in project steering group meetings.
    • Contribute to gender sensitive responses/intervention through continuous data collection during project implementation.

    Producer Organization’s Strengthening

    • Identify producer needs and develop relevant support plan with reference to Fairtrade Africa strategy, Fairtrade standards, project plan and donor requirements.
    • Carry out project right holders’ awareness on the opportunities and risks and implementation of relevant exploration or mitigation strategies.
    • Provide support to target flower farms aimed at enhancing visibility of Fairtrade certification benefits/ impact of the project towards enhancing market opportunities.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, or related field
    • A diploma in projects management is an added advantage Experience and Knowledge A minimum of 3 years project management experience in a similar environment Experience of delivering training to a range of audiences Experience in business development within sustainable supply chains Knowledge and understanding of Fairtrade standards Thematic knowledge and expertise in FTA’s priority areas

    • Good command of spoken and written English.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with individuals across multi-functional disciplines Conflict resolution skills
    • Good organizational skills
    • Good training and facilitation skills
    • Strong planning and project management skills
    • Ability to speak the local language
