    Senior Protocol Officer

    Job Reference Number: V/No.7/2022

    Number of Positions: One (1)

    Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

    Gross Salary ScaleKshs. 169,800 – 227,600 p.m

    Job Purpose:

    • The job holder will be responsible for managing and overseeing protocol processes, procedures, standards and guidelines within the Judiciary.

    Reporting Responsibilities

    • The job holder is responsible to a designated Supervisor
    • Area of Deployment: Office of the Chief Registrar of the Judiciary

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Implementing Judiciary protocol processes, procedures, standards and guidelines
    • Planning and organizing of incoming and outgoing Judiciary visits;
    • Maintaining contacts of local and foreign stakeholders;
    • Coordinating protocols of all VIP ceremonies, meetings and special events;
    • Organizing and coordinating of official events;
    • Coordinating processing of passports and other travel documents;
    • Receiving, accompanying and seeing off official delegations and Judiciary guests;
    • Maintaining linkages with other institutions and stakeholders;
    • Engaging with government officials and other stakeholders on events planning.
    • Preparing of periodic departmental reports

    Job Requirements: Academic and Professional Qualifications
    For appointment to this grade, the applicant must have: –

    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following social sciences disciplines: Public Relations, Communication, Diplomacy, or International Relations, any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • A Professional Diploma qualification in any of the Following: Mass Communication, Communication Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, Corporate Communication or any other relevant qualifications from a recognized university/institution;
    • A Senior Management Course from a recognized institution;
    • Proficiency in computer application;
    • Membership to a relevant professional body with good standing

    Experience:

    • Minimum of Six (6) Years relevant work experience
    • At least three (3) years at Supervisory Management Level

    Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit valid clearance certificates from the following bodies during the interview: –

    1. Kenya Revenue Authority
    2. Higher Education Loans Board
    3. Directorate of Criminal Investigation
    4. Ethics and Anti–Corruption Commission
    5. A recognized Credit Reference Bureau
    6. Recommendation from the relevant Professional Body, as the case may be, as being in Good Standing
    7. Advocates Complaints Commission
    8. Law Society of Kenya
