Senior Quality Engineer at BURN

Location:                            Ruiru, Kenya

Position reports to          Lab and Quality Manager

Indirect reports:              Quality engineers & Technicians

About Role

Burn is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer, who will provide experienced quality assurance support to the product development team, resolving bugs, defects, and other issues and ensuring the product meets customer specifications.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Review design drawings & 3D models, process procedures, test procedures, and quality specification sheets to understand the scope, requirements, and function. 
• Support the New Product Development (NPD) & Operations team by providing analysis and expertise throughout the inspection process.
• Identify root causes of problems in the production process; recommends and/or implement corrective measures.
• Analyze data to identify trends in product quality or defects to mitigate and prevent recurrence and future defects.
• Ensure that products meet the organization, customers’ quality, and product integrity requirements.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with industry standards and regulations.
• Maintain a database of technical documents required for production and ensure they meet document control and revision requirements.  
• Manage the corrective action tracker for quality issues and provide periodic review reports of the corrective action status
• Mentor and train a team of quality engineers and technicians on quality processes and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the quality manager

Skills and Experience:

• Thorough understanding of mechanical drawings and SolidWorks design software
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 5 years of related experience.
