    Senior Radiographer- Sonographer/ Radiology Department Lead

    Key Responsibilities:

    • To provide senior clinical and operational leadership for the Radiology Department while remaining an active Radiographer-Sonographer.
    • Coordinates safe and efficient daily service delivery Leads by example in patient care and professionalism.
    • Supervises and develops radiography staff, ensures emergency and high-risk patients are prioritised appropriately.
    • Maintains high technical standards across ultrasound, CT, general radiography, theatre imaging and approved special procedures.
    • Strength in ultrasound and CT, proactive ownership of departmental gaps.
    • Practical service improvement and timely escalation of issues requiring medical, managerial, biomedical or regulatory action.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Medical Imaging Sciences, Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent recognised qualification.
    • Registered and licensed to practise by the Radiographers Board of Kenya with a valid annual practising certificate; maintain applicable KNRA and hospital credentialing requirements
    • Proposed minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience in a busy diagnostic imaging environment.
    • Substantial recent hands-on ultrasound experience is essential.
    • Strong practical CT experience is essential.
    • Experience in approved fluoroscopic/special procedures work is highly desirable.
    • Previous formal supervisory experience is desirable but not mandatory.
    • Current Basic Life Support certification and demonstrated competence in recognising patient deterioration, contrast reactions, anaphylaxis and, urgent imaging needs.
    • Competence in HMIS/RIS/PACS workflows, image labelling, archiving. report tracking, downtime documentation and basic service-performance data review.
    • Demonstrated integrity, punctuality, calm communication, emotional maturity, confidentiality, teamwork, reliability and professional conduct under pressure.
