Duties and Responsibilities

1. Initiating the preparation of annual, mid-term, and end-term Medium Term Plan progress reports;
2. Implementing decisions and resolutions on regional economic integration agenda;
3. Identifying and dealing with emerging sectoral and cross cutting socio-economic issues; 
4. Undertaking economic modelling and forecasting;
5. Conducting Programme Performance Reviews (PPRs) and sub-sector reports for Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF);
6. Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the implementation of sector specific programmes, projects and activities; and
7. Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -

1. Served in the grade of Senior Economist II/Senior Statistician II for a Minimum period of three (3) years;
2. Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Economics, Statistics, Economics and Mathematics, Economics and Finance or Economics and Statistics from a recognized institution;
3. Qualifications in economics or statistics of at least Masters of Arts, Masters of Science or Master of Philosophy level or their equivalent recognized qualifications will be an added advantage;
4. Certificate in Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) Weeks from a recognized institution;
5. Membership to a relevant professional body;
6. Certificate in computer application skills; and
7. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
