Senior Supply Chain Management Officer, Job Grade Cue 5 at Commission for University Education

Duties and responsibilities will entail: -  

• Developing initiatives to identify and mitigate risks in supply chain management at CUE;  
• Analyzing trends and emerging issues in supply chain management and making appropriate recommendations; 
• Updating customer requirements as and when necessary; 
• Compiling information on the unit annual budget; 
• Developing new initiatives to improve operational efficiencies; 
• Analyzing the impact of supply chain management policies and regulations; 
• Ensuring the correct interpretation and application of the Public Procurement and Disposal Act and other statutes, policies, rules, and regulations that may impact on the supply chain management; 
• Coordinating implementation of work plan activities; 
• Verifying lists of prequalified suppliers and other service providers; 
• Maintaining procurement records; and  
• Providing secretarial services to procurement committees.  

Person specification  
For appointment to this grade an officer must have: -  

• A minimum period of four (4) years relevant work experience; 
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following: Commerce, Business Administration (Supply Management option), economics, procurement and supply chain management, marketing, law or their equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; 
• Member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM)/ Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS); 
• Professional Diploma certificate in Supply Chain Management from chartered Commission of purchasing and supply (CIPS), KISM or any other recognized Institution; 
• Supervisory course of not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution; 
• Proficiency in computer applications; and 
• Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
