    Senior Technologist III - Grade VIII (Surveying)

    Job purpose

    • This position is responsible for offering technical support to teaching departments and guiding students on their technical work offering practical classes, setting and giving practical exams.

     Key Responsibilities

    • Performing laboratory budgeting and stock taking for requisition of materials;
    • Participating in departmental committee and internal laboratory and workshops auditing; Ensuring safe keeping and disposal of waste left behind after practicals;
    • Obtaining and setting of equipment for practicals and demonstrations;
    • Collecting and preparing teaching and research materials;
    • Laboratory waste segregation and management; 
    • Performing maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory/workshops equipment's; Coordinating, invigilating and marking practical examination;
    • Compiling and facilitating the acquisition of laboratory/workshops teaching and research supplies to ensure they are available at the point of use;
    • Supervising undergraduate and post graduate practicals and workshop practice;
    • Assisting in the organization and participation in shows and exhibitions; and
    • Any other duty as assigned from time to time.

    Job specification
    Minimum Requirements:-

    • Bachelor's Degree in the relevant area of specialization; OR
    • Higher National Diploma in relevant area with three( 3) years working experience; OR
    • Diploma in relevant area with nine( 9) years working experience, three(3) of which as Technician Grade 7;
    • Member of a recognized professional body and in good standing;
    • Computer proficiency in relevant applications

    Terms of Service

    The appointment to the positions of Senior Procurement Officer, Senior Estates Officer, Medical Officer, Clinical Instructor and Technologist and other administrative positions shall be on Permanent & Pensionable upon satisfactory completion of six (6) months probation period and subject to satisfactory performance. The appointment to the position of University Librarian shall be on a Five (5) year contract term

    Only successful candidates shall be required to submit valid clearances from the following bodies;

    • Kenya Revenue Authority 2 Hicher Fdu Higher Education Loans Board
    • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
    • Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Certificate of Good Conduct)
    • Registered Credit Reference Bureau
