Senior Underwriter-Specialty Lines at NCBA Group

Job Purpose Statement

NCBA Insurance Company’s Senior Underwriter – Specialty Lines will be responsible for providing technical underwriting support and coordinate service delivery. The role will include underwriting policies for specialized or high-risk areas and will involve assessing risks and determining the terms and conditions under which these specialized insurance policies will be issued.

Ideal Job Specifications
Academic:

• Bachelor’s degree in insurance, Actuarial or related field.
• Diploma in Insurance - AIIK or CII.

Work experience:

• 7+ years of experience working in an insurance company and at least 3 years underwriting experience, preferably in specialty Lines including technical underwriting work
• Underwriting experience in General Insurance products
• Knowledge of reinsurance in managing risk exposure, pricing and ensuring that the company has adequate protection.
• Self-starter who is not afraid to take initiative and has a high level of self-sufficiency and is a team player.
