Short-Term Consultancy; Leadership and Governance Consultant at Physicians for Human Rights (PHR)

Role Description

This a short-term Consultancy for a period of 20 days, spread over 2 months.

Responsibilities

The key duties and responsibilities by the consultant will be to:

•  Assess the role, and mandate of PHR-K Board, and provide recommendations on ways of strengthening the board;
•  Review PHR-K’s staff capacity development needs; and
•  Design and facilitate a meeting with PHR-K staff and board on the outcome of the assessment, the key recommendations.

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate

•  Demonstrable knowledge and experience in board management, leadership, and governance; or institutional capacity development in the not-for-profit sector.
•  At least 7 years’ experience in Leadership and Governance.
•  A Master’s Degree in economics, non-profit management, business administration, or relevant social science discipline.
•  In-depth Knowledge of human rights/health and human rights.
•  Excellent written and communication skills.
•  Excellent leadership, organizational and time management skills.
•  Experience in leading and facilitating participatory processes
•  Ability to interpret, analyze, and synthesize information

The consultant will work closely with PHR-K’s Head of Office. However, the consultant is expected to be self-motivated, and be able to work independently.
