Special Educational Needs Coordinator (Senco) at Mirema School

Responsibilities

• Learner Assessment & Support – Coordinate the identification, assessment and support of learners with special educational needs.
• Inclusive Education – Support teachers in implementing inclusive teaching strategies and appropriate classroom accommodations.
• Parent & Stakeholder Collaboration – Work closely with parents, teachers, school leaders and specialists to support learner success.
• Progress Monitoring – Monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records and provide reports and recommendations.
• Department Leadership – Lead the Special Needs and Learning Support Department, promoting excellence, inclusion and continuous improvement.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance – Ensure learning support programmes comply with school policies and inclusive education standards.
• Staff Development – Facilitate training and coaching to strengthen inclusive teaching practices across the school.
• Resource Management – Coordinate specialised learning resources and assistive technologies to enhance learner support.

Requirements

• 5 years relevant subject matter teaching experience and/or 4 years relevant managerial/leadership experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Special Needs Education.
• TSC Registration.
• Valid certificate of good conduct.
