    Specialist, Strategic Assessments

    The Health and Supply Chain (HSC) BL Strategic Assessment Team (SAT) seeks a Specialist who will be responsible for monitoring and completing tasks related to Global Health Supply Chain – Procurement Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) and Global Health Division recordkeeping and file architecture, performing internal reviews and analysis, drafting recommendations and proposing process improvements, technical capacity, and management and leadership. The Specialist reports to the HSC Strategic Assessment Director.

    Responsibilities

    • Review backup documentation for transactions to identify potential gaps in the effective implementation of internal controls according to Chemonics’ and project policies and procedures
    • Design tailored testing matrices and perform assessments of key records for completeness, accuracy and accessibility and review the work of the team for document accuracy and completeness.
    • Responsible to lead one or more work plan activities such as assessments of certain type of services (commodity, warehousing and distribution, etc.)
    • Investigate and document compensating controls, if needed as a result of review
    • Provide regular updates on status of data quality assurance and audit preparedness
    • Maintain records architecture, naming conventions, and SOPs for both physical and digital file management
    • Develop presentation of ongoing observations, recommendations, and next steps to improve audit preparedness to deliver to senior project and HSC leadership
    • Develop and deliver trainings as needed on document tagging and document retention
    • Support live audits in gathering and reviewing requested documents and data for completeness, and identify potential risks with incomplete documentation
    • Actively engages in technical practice of relevance to areas of interest or focus, sharing information and best practices learned with the company
    • Identify issues or potential risks and make informed decisions on how to address the issues, communicating, when appropriate, with the SAT Director, project and HSC leadership and the Senior Vice President
    • Appropriately consults with support divisions on home-office and project-office matters to help make informed decisions
    • Supervises, develops, and evaluates assigned staff, if assigned staff. Ensures staff receive regular constructive performance feedback, prompt resolution of problems, and the time and opportunity to grow professionally.
    • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in relevant technical competency area such as accounting, finance, or business administration
    • Minimum 3 years of project management or relevant experience, including financial management responsibilities
    • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel and PowerBI. Experience using ARTMIS preferred
    • Strong organizational and work prioritization skills and attention to detail
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
    • Strong understanding of Chemonics’ financial processes preferred
    • Strong record keeping skills, spreadsheet, word processing abilities, knowledge of MS Office applications, and attention to detail
    • Supervisory experience preferred
