    Stores Assistant

    WorkStation: Dagoretti Center Office Kikuyu Rd

    Reporting to: Finance Officer 2

    Purpose of position

    The stores assistant is responsible for the proper running of the storeroom, receiving materials goods/equipment, issuing the same to departments, maintaining accurate inventory records and keeping the stores clean through regular inspection of items.

    Major responsibilities:

    • · Receiving, recording and storing of requested items in the stores.
    • · Distribution of supplies and materials to relevant units as per requests.
    • · Monitoring utilization of materials &supplies with minimal waste, misuse, pilfering and unauthorized removal.
    • · Employ right storage practices avoiding spoilage /expiration of stock and maintain health & safety standards.
    • · Maintain accurate &updated records of current inventories in the store, supply requests &Issue records.
    • · Maintain accurate records of in-kind donations with estimated value, donor contacts and update Finance.
    • · Participate in regular stock take within the organization.
    • · Prepare weekly/monthly reports on stores stock movement plus updating stock sheets and alert on new orders.
    • · Maintain cleanness and high hygiene standards of the stores.
    • · Maintain buffer stock in the store at all times in consultation with Operations officer.
    • · Weigh and keep records of all received items in the store including Dairy and farm produce at the Center.
    • · Plus, any other duties as assigned by line manager.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Diploma in Stores Management or Business Administration Certificate in Stores.
    • 2 years relevant experience in Bookkeeping and stores.
    • Excellent experience in use of office equipment including Photocopier, Scanner, Projector and digital.
    • At least 1-2 years experience working for INGO.
    • Proficiency in Computer applications, MS Office packages will be necessary.
    • Current Certificate of good conduct/Police clearance.
    • Understanding and ability to promote Child Protection Policies.

    • Should possess excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
    • Should be organized, methodical and keen to detail
    • Should be Honest with high level of integrity and ready to work on weekends when called upon.
