    Supervisor Plant

    SUPERVISOR PLANT REF: TNH/HRD/SP/03/2022

    Reporting to the Head of Engineering the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising continuous maintenance of plant equipment, plant and other facilities to ensure optimal efficiency in line with established quality and safety standards.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Plan and ensure implementation of planned preventive maintenance programs for plant equipment, plant and facilities in line with manufacturers’ recommendations and prepare the related compliance and calibration reports.
    2. Ensure all electrical, plant and hospital equipment maintenance requests are received and logged in order of importance and urgency.
    3. Create, maintain and update the hospital’s database of plant facilities to ensure integrity to data.
    4. Carry out troubleshooting to identify maintenance problems and draw up counter measures.
    5. Carry out routine hospital inspections to identify urgent repair needs for hospital equipment and plant.
    6. Supervise maintenance activities and ensure they are carried out within established standards and specifications.
    7. Ensure continuous upgrading of machines and equipment to keep pace with changing technology.
    8. Engage and supervise works of external service providers on new installations both mechanical and electrical and assess the new installations.
    9. Conduct daily checks and reactive repairs in order to ensure all electrical and mechanical equipment that support the hospital’s facilities function optimally.
    10. Prepare bill of quantities and specification for services/equipment and participate in the tender evaluation of plant and hospital equipment.
    11. Follow-up with procurement on stock items that are procured to ensure timely job completion.
    12. Coordinate disposal of obsolete equipment in line with established guidelines.
    13. Receive and analyse the job card and allocate the work to ensure timely job completion.
    14. Analyse utility consumption in order to establish the consumption trends.
    15. Coordinate staff training on the use of the new equipment/installation.
    16. Identify, deploy and motivate the plant team including performance appraisal, identification of training needs, mentorship and coaching as well as leave and absence management in line with the hospital’s people agenda; and
    17. Any other responsibilities that may be assigned to the job holder by the supervisor from time to time.

    EDUCATION SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering or any other related field form a recognized institution.
    2. Minimum of 3 years engineering experience in a maintenance function preferably in the hospitality or healthcare sector.
