    Manager Strategy & Innovation


    MANAGER STRATEGY & INNOVATION REF: TNH/HRD/MS&I /03/2022

    Reporting to Director Strategy & Innovation, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinate the preparation and follow up on the implementation of the Hospital’s long term strategic plan and Hospital-wide transformation initiatives to ensure achievement of the overall strategic objectives. 

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Coordinate the preparation of the Hospital’s long term strategic plan.
    2. Ensure that the corporate strategy is well cascaded in an annual corporate plan or targets of
    3. the Hospital to guide resource allocation and key decisions aimed at the achievement of results.
    4. Challenge existing practices and identify new and better ways of working in order to accelerate the Hospital towards achieving its strategic outcomes.
    5. Ensure collaboration cross-functionally to identify, evaluate and analyse evolving strategic priorities, set strategic objectives and goals, identify instruments for their attainment as well as monitor and evaluate the chosen strategy.
    6. Monitor the execution of the Hospital’s strategy and deliver innovative solutions to enhance the organization’s capability.
    7. Ensure that the Hospital makes financially sound, executable and data-driven business strategies that improve the shareholders’ value.
    8. Continuously monitor and evaluate the Hospital’s strategic plan (long term), medium- and
    9. short-term plans and initiatives to enable the achievement of the Hospital’s operational objectives.
    10. Monitor and proactively analyse internal and external events that affect the Hospital on anongoing basis so as to provide recommendations and leadership for both short-term tactics and long-term positioning and vision.
    11. Assess the Hospital’s periodic operations; compile and prepare them for Annual Report publication and for other purposes.
    12. Manage the Hospital’s innovation agenda to generate, select and implement value adding ideas to improve product development, business process improvement and automation.
    13. Ensure the development of new and innovative products and services based on analysis of patent behaviours using data analytics.
    14. Identify partnerships and collaboration opportunities to drive growth for the Hospital’s service offerings in order to realize strategic growth objectives.
    15. Identify, deploy and motivate the strategy & innovation team including performance appraisal, identification of training needs, mentorship and coaching as well as leave and absence management in line with the hospital’s people agenda
    16. Any other responsibilities that may be assigned to the job holder by the supervisor from time to time.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Strategy, Marketing Management,
    2. Management or any other related field from a recognized institution.
    3. Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a similar role in a large organization with 5 years at management level.

    Supervisor Plant

    SUPERVISOR PLANT REF: TNH/HRD/SP/03/2022

    Reporting to the Head of Engineering the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising continuous maintenance of plant equipment, plant and other facilities to ensure optimal efficiency in line with established quality and safety standards.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Plan and ensure implementation of planned preventive maintenance programs for plant equipment, plant and facilities in line with manufacturers’ recommendations and prepare the related compliance and calibration reports.
    2. Ensure all electrical, plant and hospital equipment maintenance requests are received and logged in order of importance and urgency.
    3. Create, maintain and update the hospital’s database of plant facilities to ensure integrity to data.
    4. Carry out troubleshooting to identify maintenance problems and draw up counter measures.
    5. Carry out routine hospital inspections to identify urgent repair needs for hospital equipment and plant.
    6. Supervise maintenance activities and ensure they are carried out within established standards and specifications.
    7. Ensure continuous upgrading of machines and equipment to keep pace with changing technology.
    8. Engage and supervise works of external service providers on new installations both mechanical and electrical and assess the new installations.
    9. Conduct daily checks and reactive repairs in order to ensure all electrical and mechanical equipment that support the hospital’s facilities function optimally.
    10. Prepare bill of quantities and specification for services/equipment and participate in the tender evaluation of plant and hospital equipment.
    11. Follow-up with procurement on stock items that are procured to ensure timely job completion.
    12. Coordinate disposal of obsolete equipment in line with established guidelines.
    13. Receive and analyse the job card and allocate the work to ensure timely job completion.
    14. Analyse utility consumption in order to establish the consumption trends.
    15. Coordinate staff training on the use of the new equipment/installation.
    16. Identify, deploy and motivate the plant team including performance appraisal, identification of training needs, mentorship and coaching as well as leave and absence management in line with the hospital’s people agenda; and
    17. Any other responsibilities that may be assigned to the job holder by the supervisor from time to time.

    EDUCATION SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering or any other related field form a recognized institution.
    2. Minimum of 3 years engineering experience in a maintenance function preferably in the hospitality or healthcare sector.

    Procurement Manager, General Warehouse And Distribution

    PROCUREMENT MANAGER, GENERAL WAREHOUSE AND DISTRIBUTION REF: TNH/HRD/PMG/03/2022

    Reporting to the Director Supply Chain & Distribution, the successful candidates will be responsible ensuring proper warehousing, inventory control of goods, maximum utilization ofwarehouse facilities and the efficient receiving, transfer, and dispatch of goods in line with the

    Hospital’s objectives.

    1. Ensure effective utilization of warehouse areas and ensure proper loading, offloading,
    2. stocking and safekeeping of items to maintain the quality of goods in order to prevent
    3. product damage and avoid occurrence of pilferage, accidents and occupational hazards.
    4. Effectively monitor flow of goods and implement First-In First-Out (FIFO) method in dispatching of goods.
    5. Coordinate with the procurement unit with regards to incoming deliveries of goods and supplies.
    6. Develop a data storage system for the warehouse.
    7. Ensure accuracy of product inventories against system records by conducting regular cycle count as per established schedules and guidelines.
    8. Evaluate and analyse inventory variances and implement preventive measures to forestall inventory variances.
    9. Comply with regulations on warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements.
    10. Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system.
    11. Identify, deploy and motivate the procurement team including performance appraisal,

    3. Must be a Professional Member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management with a valid practising license.
    4. Minimum of 8 years’ experience in warehousing or stores management in a large establishment with 5 years at management level.

    Reporting to the Procurement Manager, Medical & Non-Medical, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the Hospital’s sourcing, tendering, and purchasing activities to ensure efficiency, cost effectiveness and value for money in line with the Hospital’s
    objectives.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Provide support and guidance to user departments in the development of specifications.
    2. Ensure efficient and cost-effective sourcing and delivery of materials, services and/or equipment to user departments.
    3. Develop and implement sourcing strategies for spend management, supplier development and management, category buying, contracts, vendor managed inventory and rating processes amongst others.
    4. Lead supplier pre-qualification, selection and development processes, quotation, and tender processes in a timely and transparent manner.
    5. Contribute to lead-time reduction and demand management initiatives to optimize inventory levels.
    6. Ensure cost-effectiveness, quality and timely procurement and delivery of all supply’s services.

    Senior Marketing And CSR Officer

    SENIOR MARKETING AND CSR OFFICER REF: TNH/HRD/SM&C/03/2022

    Reporting to the Head of Business Development, Marketing and CSR, the successful candidates will be responsible developing and implement the marketing initiatives in order to position and promote the hospital’s services to the target market in line with the hospital’s objectives.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Analyse the Hospital’s brand position in the market and crystallise targeted consumer insights.
    2. Translate brand strategies into brand plans, brand positioning and go-to-market strategies;
    3. Establish performance specifications, cost and price parameters, market applications and sales estimates.
    4. Regularly inspect the Main Hospital and OPCs to ensure compliance of the Hospital's
    5. image, standards and brand management.
    6. Participate in the development and continuous review and update brand manual and guidelines.
    7. Develop promotional objectives and set goals in consultation with the Head of Marketing,
    8. Business Development and CSR and develop and/or initiate new techniques of promotion.
    9. Generate ideas and content for advertising, external websites and printed signage, billboards and posters.
    10. Organize programs designed to attract new clients and retain existing ones.

    16. Ensure that the Hospital’s products are appropriately advertised in relevant locations and events.
    17. Encourage inter-departmental collaborations to generate advertising ideas or develop advertising strategies for the Hospital’s products and services.
    18. Develop the loyalty programs of the Hospital in collaboration with core process owners.
    19. Measure and report performance of all marketing campaigns and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs).
    20. Manage the development and execution of the Hospital’s digital marketing campaigns.
