    Supply Chain Management Officer

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The duties and responsibilities of the selected candidate will entail assisting in:

    1. Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual unit and statutory reports.
    2. Preparing to publish and distributing procurement opportunities through quotations, proposals and tender invitations.
    3. Implementing E-procurement and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
    4. Preparing and implementing procurement policies, procedures and work instructions for approval by the Manager, Supply Chain Management.
    5. Preparing and submitting quarterly reports to PPRA, EACC and the Ministry.
    6. Implementing the Presidential Directive on 30% on all government procurement to Youth, Women and Persons with Disabilities.
    7. Undertaking an annual Board of Survey to establish items for disposal.
    8. Performing secretarial duties (upon delegation from the Manager, Supply Chain Management) of respective procurement committees.
    9. Developing a monitoring mechanism for the implementation of contracts and supplier appraisals.
    10. Coordinating the disposal of unserviceable and obsolete stores.
    11. Verifying quotations and tender documents for approval by the Principal SCM before the bidding process.
    12. Preparing and follow up of LPOs and LSOs.
    13. Evaluating supplier performance.
    14. Carrying out market surveys.
    15. Preparing procurement reports for management decision making.
    16. Implementing computerized procurement management systems; and
    17. Assist in reviewing and updating the supplier list periodically.

    Academic and Professional Qualifications

    1. Bachelors degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Business Administration, Economics, Commerce or a related field from a recognized institution;
    2. Be registered as a student member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management;
    3. Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya; and
    4. Proficiency in computer applications.

    Method of Application

    • Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
    • Clearance from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
    • Clearance Certificate from a Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
