Commercial Lawyer at Takaful Insurance of Africa

JOB SUMMARY
The commercial lawyer will be responsible for:

• All commercial law matters and company secretarial work on behalf of the company. Key responsibilities
• Carrying out the negotiation, drafting and review of commercial contracts and ensuring they are duly executed. Conducting legal research on various areas of law including new legislation in the country.
• Effecting the legal formation of entities including documentation and legal compliance and taking further action as required by law.
• Assisting with due diligence related to contracts, agreements and other transactional matters.
• Providing legal advice on commercial and corporate transactions
• Negotiating desirable contractual terms for all company contracts.
• Handling arbitration of company matters as required.
• Ensuring corporate legal compliance.
• Providing legal opinions on various matters touching the company.
• Facilitating provision of supporting legal documents as required.

Educational Requirements

• Required and Mandatory
• Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
• Advocate of the High of Kenya with a current Practicing Certificate
• 5 years post admission experience in a busy commercial law
• firm/department.
• Experience in a similar role.
• Desirable & Added advantage
• A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
• Professional qualification(s) in takaful and/or a related field.
