Tax Associate - Tax Advisory at Grant Thornton Kenya

Job Summary

The overall purpose of this job is to carry out tax engagements, which include planning, executing, directing and completing the assignments in accordance with the engagement terms.

Job Details

• Undertake, tax due diligence and tax health checks;
• Preparation of current and deferred tax  computations;
• Assist in undertaking KRA audits;
• Be involved in drafting tax advisory opinions and complex advisory reports;
• Prepare tax returns;
• Assist in performing monthly tax reviews for the clients;
• Assist in drafting tax objections and appeals by gathering relevant documentation and legal references ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations
• Assist tax team in development of publications including tax alerts;
• Assist in the preparation of documentation on tax matters and other engagements as requested;
• Keep abreast of changes in tax legislation including developments in global and regional taxation and related tax issues;

Requirements

• BA/BS/BSc (or equivalent) in Accounting, Auditing, Business, Technology (or similar field) desirable;
• Professional qualification in tax-related field such as CPA, ACCA or similar is mandatory;
• Have knowledge on iTax software;
• Have good communication (written/verbal) and presentation skills;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite;
• Have a minimum of two (2) years in Tax or accounts;
• Have an understanding of the Tax laws and basic accounting.
