    Tax Supervisor

    Responsibilities:

    • Supervise a team of tax professionals, delegating tasks and providing guidance on complex tax matters.
    • Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to deadlines.
    • Mentor and coach junior staff, fostering their professional development.
    • Oversee the preparation and review of various tax returns (corporate tax, income tax, VAT, etc.) for clients.
    • Ensure timely filing of all tax returns with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
    • Manage tax audits and liaise with KRA officials on client behalf.
    • Identify and mitigate potential tax risks for clients.
    • Stay up to date on Kenyan tax laws and regulations.
    • Analyze tax implications for client business decisions and transactions.
    • Develop tax-efficient strategies to minimize client tax liabilities while adhering to regulations.
    • Identify opportunities for tax credits and deductions for clients.
    • Communicate effectively with clients on tax matters, explaining complex issues in clear and concise language.
    • Collaborate with other departments within RWK (accounting, finance, legal) to ensure a cohesive tax strategy for clients.

    Qualifications:

    Mandatory :

    • Professional accounting qualification: CPA(K)

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor's degree in commerce, accounting, law, or a related field.
    • Course from the Kenya School of Revenue Authority (KESRA).
    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in tax, with some supervisory experience.
    • Strong understanding of Kenyan tax laws and regulations.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Time management and organizational skills.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and tax application.
