    Teacher of Humanities

    THE ROLE

    • The Teacher of Humanities is responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality teaching across the Humanities curriculum (History, Geography, Religious Studies), fostering intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of human societies, cultures, and environments to Year 5–8 pupils.
    • The role involves planning and delivering well-structured lessons that challenge and inspire pupils, supporting academic progress, and promoting discussion, analysis, and independent thought.
    • Beyond the classroom, the postholder contributes fully to the wider life of the school through the coaching of sport, active pastoral involvement in the Senior Boys’ Boarding House and serving as a tutor. The role also includes leading and supporting enrichment provision for pupils holding academic, music, and sport scholarships; nurturing excellence.
    • The successful candidate will demonstrate strong subject knowledge, effective classroom management, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping young people understand the world and their role within it. Life in a full boarding school in a remote location requires adaptability, energy, and resilience. Above all, the post-holder will share our commitment to delivering a world-class education.
