Job Description

Key duties and responsibilities:

The job holder will be responsible for the following duties.

• Carrying out scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance on mechanical equipment
• Carrying out calibration of all mechanical monitoring equipment
• Installing, testing, and commissioning new or refurbished plant equipment and systems
• Carrying out regular safety inspections; interpreting technical drawings as per work requirement
• Carrying out diagnostics and troubleshooting of faults of the plant and auxiliaries
• Monitoring and regulating machine load, voltage, frequency, and dam reservoir levels.

Educational Requirements Job Experience/Qualifications

• Must be a holder of O-level certificate with a mean score of C (plain) and at least a C- (Minus) and above in Mathematics and Physics subjects.
• Diploma in Mechanical/ Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution and a final certificate from the national examining body(KNEC)
• Registration as a certified engineering technician with KETRB/EBK is mandatory.
• Proficiency in computer application.
• Experience in a production or electricity generating environment is an added advantage.
• Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
