    Theatre Nurse- Nairobi

    Objective

    • Our client in Healthcare sector seeks to engage a Theatre Nurse to Support in perioperative services by working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare operating theatres and ensure all equipment is sterilized and ready for procedures.
    • Assist surgeons and anesthetists during operations by providing instruments and maintaining aseptic technique.
    • Monitor patients’ vital signs before, during, and after surgery.
    • Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care, including patient education and counselling.
    • Provide Scrub, circulating and recovery nursing support across range of surgical specialties
    • Maintain Strict aseptic technique & infection control standards 
    • Participate in departmental meetings, continuous medical education (CMEs), and quality improvement initiatives
    • Educate patients and relatives on treatment plans, medication use, and preventive healthcare practices
    • Participate actively in patient assessment, treatment planning, monitoring, and follow-up care
    • Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and patient progress.
    • Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control protocols in the theatre environment.
    • Handle specimens safely and ensure proper documentation for laboratory analysis.
    • Support emergency surgical interventions when required

    Qualifications:

    • Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN)
    • Higher Diploma in Peri-operative Nursing 
    • Licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya 
    • At least 1–2 years of clinical experience
