Role Description

• This is a full-time, on-site Training in German Language role based at Meru University of Science and Technology in Meru County, Kenya. The role involves delivering structured German language instruction to learners at various proficiency levels, using effective teaching methodologies and instructional materials. The trainer will plan and facilitate lessons, assess learner progress, provide feedback, and maintain accurate training records. Daily tasks include preparing lesson plans, conducting classroom sessions, organizing practical language activities, offering academic support, and collaborating with faculty and administrative staff to align training with program objectives.

Qualifications

• Strong Communication skills, including clear spoken and written English and German, and the ability to explain concepts to diverse learners.
• Demonstrated Training & Development experience, including planning, delivering, and evaluating language training programs.
• Practical Training and Instructional Design skills, including creating lesson plans, learning materials, and assessments tailored to learner needs.
• Customer Service orientation, with a focus on learner support, responsiveness, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Proficiency in German language (at least B2 level or equivalent certification) and familiarity with recognized language proficiency frameworks.
• Relevant academic qualification in German language, Education, Linguistics, or a related field; pedagogical training or teaching certification is an added advantage.
• Experience teaching or training in an academic or professional setting, preferably in higher education.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, manage time effectively, and use digital tools to support teaching and learning.
