    About the role

    Purpose

    Successful delivery of the Africa Tax Embedment Project to deliver process mapping and gap identification project as per the set timelines.

    This role sits in Global Tax and is responsible for supporting the Africa Tax Embedment project to deliver comprehensive tax process mapping – across all tax types - and gap identifications. Failure to deliver the project may lead to compliance failures resulting in financial and reputational exposure for Diageo.

    Global Tax is responsible for delivering world class tax processes from both a compliance and business partnering perspective.  Africa represents a complex and dynamic region that requires additional support in building controlled and efficient tax processes.

    Collaborating with other members of Global Tax and the wider finance community as required to deliver the successful delivery of the Africa Tax Embedment project.

    3. GBO
    4. Finance Controllers
    5. Market Finance Directors

    Accountabilities

    • Work together with the relevant teams to build robust and comprehensive process documentation.
    • Review the process mapping documentation and actively manage the process mapping workshops to capture the AS IS processes, the process gaps, risks and controls, document retention requirements
    • Promptly identify and manage any emerging risk in relation to the project (timeliness or quality) and escalate these in due course to the senior management
    • Ensure that consistent and quality deliverables are produced.

    About You

    Experience required/Skills/Capabilities/Languages

    • Tax experience (Customs and Excise experience is welcome)
    • Managing risk and dealing with enquiries and audits from tax authorities
    • 4 years of experience within a Global Tax function in a global multinational company
    • Examples of process efficieny/improvement mindset
    • Effective project management and implementation skills
    • Good team working and communication skills across diverse cultures
