    VMM Operator

    About the Role:

    BURN is looking for a VMM Operator who will be tasked with the following:

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Generate and operate VMM Programs for First Piece inspection, In-Process quality, and any Special projects.
    • Utilize VMM data to identify and resolve any quality problems related to laser cutting and assist the problem-solving teams that focus on problem prevention and variance reduction for the CNC laser machines.
    • Assist with required data for capability studies.
    • Carry out all standardized preventive maintenance plans for VMM machines.
    • Maintain programs in an organized manner so personnel can access information to verify testing criteria and reduce chances of data loss.
    • Carry out calibration of the VMM as per standard operating procedures
    • Prepare all samples for testing on the VMM
    • Reports on fixtures needed to hold parts for testing.
    • Document and manage all consumables related to the operation and running of the machine.
    • Provide feedback to the product development teams on the design changes required based on the VMM data.
    • To help in machine error troubleshooting
    • To document and report all VMM tasks to the direct manager.
    • Train quality technicians on using the VMM when needed.
    • Ensure a safe and organized workspace in the VMM room

    Skills and Experience:

    • Experience with computer-aided programming and operation of Vision Measuring Machines (VMM)
    • Thorough understanding of mechanical drawings and SolidWorks design software
    • Capable of working independently as well as collaborating and coordinating efforts with colleagues.
    • Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple activities and requirements in a changing, fast-paced environment
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficient with micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering with at least 1 years of related experience.
