    Women’s Rights Programme and Policy Adviser

    The Role

    The Women’s Rights Programme and Policy Adviser connects the women’s rights and feminist alternatives work across the ActionAid International federation, covering up to 45 countries. As part of a Global Women’s Rights Team, they work closely with our internal women’s rights community and other colleagues across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas, supporting strategic fundraising, communication and knowledge building and ensuring that our thematic work reflects our system change approach towards a feminist, just transition.

    Who we're looking for

    We are looking for someone with strong thematic knowledge and experience of feminist programmatic and policy approaches particularly related to care, women’s labour, decent and dignified work, and structural gender-based violence. You are passionate about social justice, a strategic and creative thinker, good with people across cultures and an excellent communicator, able to generate and maintain enthusiasm for a growing radical and exciting area of work. We are looking for someone who has been in a similar role in a women’s rights organization or a broader social justice organization with a strong feminist women’s rights or gender justice focus; preferably covering multiple countries in the Global South.

     You should also have strong commitment to ActionAid’s values and ethos, including ActionAid’s feminist leadership principles.

    What we offer

    ActionAid is committed to providing a welcoming, supportive workplace where we recognise a job well done, encourage close collaboration and sharing power, and where safeguarding standards and feminist leadership are exemplified everywhere. At ActionAid, you can look forward to a fair compensation package and a flexible working environment, including;

    • A workplace that embraces feminist principles
    • Generous maternity, paternity and adoption pay
