In 1898, Rudolf Diesel granted Burmeister & Wain A/S exclusive Danish manufacturing rights for the innovative, revolutionary diesel engine, which he had introduced the year before.
In the ensuing years, the company’s diesel engines and licensed designs were used worldwide.
