  • Anglican Development Services - North Rift (ADS NR) is the Development arm of the Anglican Dioceses of Eldoret, Kitale, Kapsabet and Missionary Area of Lodwar. The ADS NR region covers the six counties of the North Rift namely: Nandi, Uasin Gishu, Elgeiyo Marakwet, Trans-Nzoia, West Pokot, and Turkana. Which is a total of 177,394 Square Kilometers and has an estimated population of 4.3 million according to the National Census of 2009.     Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning/Collaboration, Learning, and Adapting (MEL/CLA) Director

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience designing and implementing MEL and CLA systems for international development projects. Prior experience in a MEL leadership position required.
    • Strong track record of working on projects of similar scope (agriculture, resilience, food security, nutrition, etc.), complexity, and size. Experience in MEL for a USAID Feed the Future activity is desirable.
    • Ability to communicate findings to a range of external and internal stakeholders and apply MEL results to project implementation strategies.
    • Experience mentoring staff in MEL techniques. Experience strengthening the capacity of local organizations in knowledge management and learning.
    • Prior experience leading, designing, managing, and/or commissioning performance evaluations and other types of research.
    • Previous experience in Kenya or another East African country strongly preferred.
    • Master’s degree in Statistics, Public Policy, International Development, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in statistical software such as STATA, SPSS, or a similar package.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Fluency in English required.

    Finance and Compliance Director

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience and progressive responsibility in finance and accounting, project operations, and office administration.
    • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working on USAID-funded projects in finance in administration.
    • Experience leading and managing the financial aspects of USAID projects, including a demonstrated understanding of applicable USG regulations for cooperative agreements and/or contracts.
    • Experience with financial reporting for donor-funded projects and demonstrated accuracy in working with large amounts of data.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent. Advanced degree (MBA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred.
    • Previous experience in Kenyan or another East African country strongly preferred.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Fluency in English required.

    Chief of Party

     This project, which will be led by a local Kenyan organization, will:

    • Promote inclusive agricultural-led growth with a focus on climate smart approaches that leverages the resources of the private sector, to create jobs, especially for youth, and catalyze investments in agricultural market systems development;
    • Strengthen the resilience of people and systems by expanding economic opportunities, diversifying livelihoods, and building social capital and social safety nets;
    • Improve nutrition, especially of women and children by expanding incomes, increasing the availability of diverse and nutrient-rich foods, empowering women and adolescent girls; and
    • Integrate important cross cutting issues such as the empowerment of women and adolescent girls, youth unemployment, access to water and sanitation services, access to energy including productive use of energy, climate change adaptation and mitigation, recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic’s long-term effects, as well as conflict mitigation, peacebuilding, and social cohesion to improve food security, nutrition, and resilience.

    The COP will provide overall leadership, management, and technical direction for the program – ensuring an integrated vision among diverse components and actors – to achieve the desired results. This position will lead program strategic planning and decision making and will be responsible for overall activities of sub-recipients. The COP will work directly with USAID and will be a key liaison to implementing partners and other stakeholders. This position will ensure full compliance with all USAID, ADSE, and other fiduciary regulations and will oversee the project reporting process in line with donor requirements. The COP will supervise project staff including professional performance management and coaching.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in designing and implementing agriculture projects.
    • Minimum of ten (10) years of work experience in developing countries, preferably in Kenya or East Africa.
    • Minimum five (5) years of successful experience as Chief of Party, Team Leader, Project Director or equivalent position for donor-funded projects of similar magnitude and complexity in developing countries.
    • Strong understanding of and background in technical areas such as climate-smart agriculture, market systems development, economic and environmental resilience, nutrition-sensitive agriculture, gender equality and social inclusion, and youth empowerment.
    • Master’s degree or higher in Agricultural Development, Agricultural Economics, Business, International Development, Public Policy, or another related field.
    • Demonstrated experience in progressively responsible supervisory positions, including direct supervision of professional and support staff; quality evaluation of staff performance and deliverables; and contracts/grants management.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Fluency in English required.
