    Information Systems Security Officer

    The Role

    The Information Systems Security (ISS) Ocer ensures the Bank’s policies and frameworks covering Information Security are strictly adhered to. He/she participates in the design, development & review of information security standards, systems and information security awareness campaigns.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintains and enhances the information technology security and controls to facilitate information integrity, availability and con‑dentiality;
    • Promotes security awareness, practices, processes, procedures and policies;
    • Ensures unit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies are up to date and relevant to the functions of the unit;
    • Files and archives all documentation generated from activities undertaken within the unit;
    • Responsible for timely and accurate rendition of reports de‑ned for and required from the unit; Responsible for the successful implementation of all projects of the unit;
    • Manages user access rights to all systems in use in the Bank in line with laid down guidelines;
    • Responsible for process review, documentation and automation of manual processes & overall maintenance of working equipment;
    • Develops and implements Information Security Management Systems;
    • Participates in information security awareness programs

    Qualications & Experience

    • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or related qualication
    • Certication  in  ICT  Security  e.g.  Certied  Information  Systems  Auditor  (CISA),  Certied  Information  System  Manager (CISM)
    • Cisco Certied Security Professional (CCSP) and Cisco Certied Network Administrator (CCNA) preferred
    • Familiar with various network and database monitoring tools
    • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role at a nancial institution / professional services

    Competencies & Skills

    • Thorough understanding of networks i.e. Local Area Network (LAN) /Wide Area Network (WAN), rewalls and other vulnerable components as regards ICT Security
    • Ability to identify new and better approaches to work processes and incorporate the same in own work
    • Ability to maintain condentiality with regard to information processed, stored, or accessed by the systems

    Credit Analyst

    The Role

    Reporting to the Head, Risk and Compliance, the Senior Risk & Compliance Ocer assists in overseeing and implementing the Bank’s Risk Management & Compliance framework

    Key Responsibilities

    • On-boarding good quality credit facilities to support business growth;
    • Ensuring adherence to the Bank’s credit policy and the CBKprudential guidelines in lending;
    • Responsible for timely, error & fraud freereview of customer facility requests;
    • Ensuring adherence to the SLAs relatingto completion and progression of credit applications; Ensuring the correctsecurities are stated in all the credit applications and any gaps on securitiesare escalated to the Head, Credit Risk Management and the Head of Legal forcorrective measures.
    • Effective organization and follow up on action points ofvarious Credit Risk Committee meetings;
    • Ensuring the unit SOP is up to dateand relevant;
    • Monitoring conditions of approval of facilities;
    • Ensuring proper ‑ling and archiving of all documentation generated from processing transactions within the unit;
    • Preparation of IFRS provision reports;Receive Credit proposals from Relationship O­cers/Managers and make recommendationsto the Head of Credit Risk Management;
    • Ensure critical risk monitoring forcompliance with all statutory requirements and monitor the entire CorporatePortfolio, highlighting speci‑c action points for accounts in excess/overapproved limits, and loans in arrears;
    • With the help of periodical diaries from the Credit Administration unit, monitor and control pre &post-approval ‑nancial and non-‑nancial covenants/conditions and compliance
    • therein;
    • Review/ Proof read draft Letters of Oer & Standard Securities,ensuring they incorporate all approval conditions/covenants and security documents as stated therein, before being ‑nal sign o;
    • In conjunction with the Credit Administration unit, provide the relevant input information & co-ordinate the updating of the Bank’s Core Banking System for purposes ofcompiling periodic Corporate Credit Risk Management Reports as per CBK &the Bank’s Credit Risk policies/requirements;
    • Review and propose risk ratinggrades and ensure the pricing mirrors the inherent risks in all corporateproposals;
    • Preparation of the deals log and maintenance of a data base of allcredit approvals held;
    • Filing of all credit approvals with the relevantsupporting documents;
    • Preparation of letters of offer

    Qualications & Experience

    • A Bachelor’s degree in a business related field
    • Professional accounting/nance accreditation e.g CFA, ACCA or CPA
    • 3-5 years’ experience in a credit analysis role within a nancial institution

    Senior Risk & Compliance Officer

    The Role

    Reporting to the Head, Risk and Compliance, the Senior Risk & Compliance Ocer assists in overseeing and implementing the Bank’s Risk Management & Compliance framework

    Key Responsibilities

    • Risk Management
      • Oversees the review and implementation of the existing risk management framework;
      • Manages risk profile mapping for new products, processes and procedures in compliance with Bank and regulatory policies;
      • Oversees, develops and implements risk awareness initiatives;
      • Conducts Bank wide risk control assessment as well as business impact analysis;
      • Oversees compilation of Regulator, Board, Group and Management reports, statistics, trend analysis on overdue recommendations and risk pro‑les;
      • Organises and monitors Bank wide training on Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Risk Management;
      • Ensures implementation of audit recommendations;
      • Assists with and coordinates the development of tools to identify, assess, mitigate and monitor risk across the Bank;
      • Provides support in the implementation of the existing risk and compliance management framework and monitors risks regularly;
      • Maintenance and review of the Risk Register;
      • Regular transactional monitoring.
    • Compliance
      • Fosters a culture of compliance in the Bank;
      • Assesses and monitors compliance with all department and Bank policies, procedures and regulations;
      • Develops and coordinates effective Anti-Money Laundering/combating Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) training program for all sta and ensures proper awareness is created on the provisions of the Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2009 (POCAMLA) and other regulatory provisions/ guidelines;
      • Ensures proper sanctions and Politically Exposed Person (PEP) management by the Bank; Oversees adherence to Corporate Governance and Ethics for all charters in the Bank
      • Ensures proper reporting of violations or potential violations to relevant enforcement agencies as appropriate or required;
      • Organises and monitors Bank wide training on Know Your Customer (KYC);
      • Policies, Procedures and Processes review, tracking, updating, and custodianship;
      • Ensures that all mandatory reports are duly rendered by the Bank to regulatory bodies & carry out Annual Due Diligence on Corresponding Banking relationship

    Qualifications & Experience

    • A Bachelor’s degree in a business related field
    • Relevant Professional training/certifications in Risk Management & Compliance
    • Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CFA or CISA will be an added advantage
    • Minimum four (4) years’ experience in Compliance and Risk Management gained from the financial services industry
    • Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards
    • Knowledge of legal requirements and controls e.g. Anti-Money Laundering

    Audit Assistant

    The Role

    Reporting to the Head, Systems and Control (SYSCON), the Audit Assistant will assist in the audit of Bank systems so as to offer independent assurance to the Board of Directors and Senior Management on the adequacy and effectiveness of Internal Control, Risk Management and Governance Systems and processes

    Key Responsibilities

    • Carrying out Internal audits as per the approved Audit Planto ensure compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures (SOPs), statutoryrequirements and best practices;
    • Conducting Operation Performance Reviews(OPR) on Branches and Support Functions and provide feedback to the concernedunits after review by the Head of SYSCON;
    • Monthly review of the GeneralLedgers’ proofs;
    • Review customer complaints relating to refund requestsgiving an independent assessment of the complaint to assist the Management withthe ‑nal approval process;
    • Service Level Agreements (SLA) reviews for allBank units/Branches;
    • Ad-Hoc assignment such as review of user acceptancetests and investigations and report ‑ndings and recommendations to the Head ofSYSCON;
    • Follow up and appraise implementation of corrective actions asrecommended in the various audits / investigation reports;
    • Carry out regularand surprise (spot) inspections of all processes, ensuring that they complywith the Bank’s policy and procedures, statutory requirements and bestpractices guideline;
    • Ensuring adoption of audit best practice from theIndustry and Group Internal Audit through review of audit processes andprocedure manuals, audit working papers and templates;
    • Advisory services tostakeholders on controls on new products and services in the Bank;
    • Play anindependent assurance role in all strategic Bank projects ensuring that projectrisks are identi‑ed and mitigated;
    • With the approval of the Head of SYSCON,liaise with external assurance providers & regulators (CBK) as well asother stakeholders on matters relating to Internal Controls & Audit.

    Qualications & Experience

    • A Bachelor’s degree in business with specialization in a numerical/nancial discipline
    • Professional qualication such as CFA, CPA, ACCA or CISA
    • 1 – 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a bank, nancial institution or professional services 

    Competencies & Skills

    • Knowledge of banking and regulatory operations and regulations
    • High computer literacy
    • Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision
    • Investigation and Probing skills
    • Communication skills, including oral communication, report writing, and presentation skills
    • Knowledge in auditing, internal audit standards, fraud awareness, and professional ethical standards
    • Knowledge in enterprise risk management (i.e., risk analysis and control assessment)
