    Finance Business Partner – Sponsorship and Pooled Funds

    ROLE PURPOSE:

    The role of the International Programme Finance team is to provide quality strategic insight and effective finance partnering to key stakeholders about our International Programmes to drive quality financial and business outcomes.

    The role holder will be responsible for supporting key SCI Centre stakeholders and the Finance leadership team with strong finance business partnering and high quality management information in order to enable the organisation to deliver high quality outcomes for children.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Essential

    • Relevant finance and business partnering experience in a Chartered Accounting, Commercial or NGO environment
    • Well-developed analytical and business partnering skills
    • Excellent IT literacy including expertise in spread sheet modelling
    • Proven experience in budgeting and forecasting
    • Ability to liaise remotely with a wide range of people at all levels and across different cultures and to act with credibility, tact and diplomacy
    • Excellent stakeholder management and strategic influencing skills
    • Ability to be proactive and logical in problem-solving scenarios
    • High attention to detail and takes pride in delivering accurate, high quality work
    • Ability to work at both granular / detailed and higher / more strategic levels, and be able to switch fluidly between both
    • A thorough understanding of financial systems and procedures
    • Strong time management skills with an ability to plan ahead, anticipate requirements, and obstacles, and an ability to juggle competing priorities successfully, and to work to tight deadlines
    • Conscientious and client focussed
    • Maintains a calm disposition and positive outlook particularly when working under pressure

    Desirable:

    • Experience in working at a CO or Regional Level Finance leadership role at SCI or any other INGO.
    • Experienced in a multi-currency multi sector finance environment

    We can offer circa £46,000 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National T&C (including pay) will apply.

    This role can be based in any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location.

    Head of Global Brand

    ROLE PURPOSE:

    We are at a transformative moment where integration between brand, advocacy, fundraising and media as well as unification across the members is key to brand growth and building our supporter base.

    The role of the Head of Global Brand is to deliver the global brand strategies, in order to Increase the power of the Brand and Reputation of Save the Children, and to increase Brand equity in key markets, driving growth and impact for children by:

    • Working towards an aligned brand identity across the movement – members, regional offices and country offices - that is distinct, clear, relevant and consistent.
    • Contributing to the development of strategic integrated communication opportunities, products, & content that can support Members to increase brand awareness, reputation and preference in their markets. This work will help to develop the foundation upon which our supporters and employees will connect with our mission.
    • Develop and deploy brand engagement / living the brand program for all employees
    • Accelerating member skills and capabilities through best practice models, skill sharing and training
    • Build a stronger and committed global brand community from the global brand group to ensure strong strategic brand leaders to create a global identity at Member level
    • Oversee the development of relevant brand insights from a variety of sources including brand tracking, external research etc.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    • Strong and consolidated experience of working on international brand development and communications.

    Field Office Advocacy Officer

    The role holder will lead advocacy in Wajir County and provide strategic leadership in policy, advocacy and programme related learnings. The role holder will develop and implement county advocacy initiatives focussing on education and other thematic areas of focus for the organisation that ultimately results to political will and commitment towards children’s holistic skills development within national education systems being enhanced. S/he will map out key child participation forums at the county level to ensure children voices contribute to the realisation of the project’s objectives besides packaging information/research findings and developing appropriate communication channels for dissemination of information/research findings; project documentation and dissemination; capacity building, learning and knowledge management. The role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

    Contract Duration: 12 months renewable subject to funding availability and performance.

    Qualification and Experience

    Essential

    • At least 5 years of experience in advocacy work, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of advocacy strategies. Experience working within the education sector is an added advantage.
    • Highly knowledgeable on Child Rights Governance including; Public Investment in Children
    • Excellent understanding of Kenya’s budget cycle (both at county and national level) and moments.
    • An understanding of policy and legislative development processes at both national and county levels.
    • Superior written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex arguments into accessible English for a non-specialist audience, and the ability to write articles that would be published in the mainstream press.
    • Knowledge of the devolution processes, and its impact on the health sector.
    • Excellent verbal communication skills, appropriate for high-level external representation (for example lobbying county governors, ministers, MCAs)
    • Experience of developing advocacy strategies, knowledge and understanding of a range of advocacy techniques
    • Experience of effective team work and outstanding inter-personal communication skills
    • Experience of coalition building and working with civil society actors to deliver change
    • Excellent understanding of Sustainable Development Goals, Vision 2030, policy and legal provisions in support of child survival.
    • Fluency in spoken and written English and Kiswahili
    • Commitment to Save the Children’s mission and values

    Desirable:

    • Bachelors Degree qualification in social sciences, Political Science, Governance, International development or Community development.
    • Experience and training on policy and advocacy.
    • Good knowledge of the nutrition and health field, including the work of academic/research contacts, NGOs, UN agencies
    • Good presentation and persuasion skills.
    • Experience of policy research, having written and published policy reports and briefings and evaluating evidence of their impact.
    • Understanding to context and local language.
