    Field Technical Officer

    Main duties and responsibilities:

    • Shall carry out agronomy extension service for farmers within allocated farmer cells and make visits as per the scope/context of service provision
    • Shall carry out farmer trainings based on pre-agreed topics and as agreed with the client and KAM through all the crop production stages – including pre-and postproduction.
    • Coordinate farmer barazas/ meeting to ensure compliance to agreed procedures, protocols and processes so as to ensure sustainable crop production.
    • Ensure sustainability practices and key performance indicators are met
    • Ensure monitoring, advisory and reporting on the progress of crop (tobacco) from pre-nursery, nursery, field, harvest, and post-harvest operations.  
    • Provide advisory services to farmers in GAP, crop production/husbandry practices including plant nutrition, fertilization, crop protection, rotation among other practices
    • Ensure continuous monitoring of crop progress and estimates to ensure crop production target in achieved for both quality and quantity
    • Participate in assigned events to offer technical advice and to support the crop sciences team to achieve target objectives
    • Ensure that work carried out and work places under his/her control meet the requirements of the group minimum health, safety and environment standards and procedures
    • Ensure compliance to health, safety and environment procedures and policies for SGS and client
    • At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct
    • Carry out any other assignment as may be advised from time to time

    Qualifications

    Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

    • Hold a minimum of Diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture or any other agricultural related course
    • Have at least 1 year(s) working experience in field extension and or field agronomy.
    • Must be competent in motorcycle riding and have a valid motorcycle riding license
    • Have a valid certificate of good conduct
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills – grassroot experience preferred.
    • Sensitive to set timelines and targets
    • Physically fit, hardworking, honest and performance driven
    • Must be computer literate
    • Excellent communication skills and a team player.
    • Basic knowledge of HSE standards and riding competency are added advantages.

    Key Account Manager

    Job Description

    • Shall facilitate strategic intent of the company and of the client on QHSE together with EHS coordinator
    • Carry out supervision of agronomy extension services for farmers by the FTOs as per the scope/ KPIs agreed to
    • Manage and monitor farmer trainings carried out by the Field extension officers based on pre agreed topics and as agreed with the client and KAM through all the crop production stages, including pre and post-production
    • Manage and Co-ordinate farmer barazas and meetings in field operations to ensure compliance to pre-agreed procedures and processes to ensure sustainable crop production
    • Ensure sustainability practices and all Kenya operations key performance indicators are met
    • Ensure monitoring, advisory and reporting on the progress of crop of interest from prenursery, nursery, field, harvest and post-harvest operations
    • Provide advisory services to client and farmers in crop production/husbandry practices including plant nutrition, fertilization, crop protection, rotation among other practices
    • Ensure continuous monitoring and reporting of crop progress and estimates to ensure crop production target in achieved for both quality and quantity
    • Participate in assigned events to offer technical advice and to support the client and crop sciences team to achieve target objectives
    • Be overall responsible for the safety of staff, contractors, visitors and other people under his/her control in the department
    • Ensure that work carried out and work places in Kenya operations meet the requirements of the group minimum health, safety and environment standards and procedures and clients EHS requirements

    Qualifications

    Leaf Centre Administration Assistant, LCAA

    Job Description

    • Shall review and check deliveries before issues are made to ensure they tally with original prints received and before issuance to farmers
    • Verification of farmer contracts and attachments before contracting
    • Perform monthly inputs stock reconciliations between physical and book stocks and ensure variances are explained and reconciled immediately
    • Check and take stock of all inputs kept in the station to ensure no loss
    • Timely compile and forward accurate monthly reports to the Leaf Growing and Information Control as per the pre-determined cut-off dates
    • Ensure that all the records relating to the outgrowing stations are forwarded to LGIC for keeping as per the BAT(K) records management policy
    • Ensure smooth running of crop buying operations
    • Carry out weekly crop stock reconciliation and ensure variances are reported and followed up
    • Ensure that any day-to-day administrative activities are carried out promptly and that confidentiality is always maintained
    • Ensure services such as water, electricity, sanitation is available for smooth running of the leaf centres or baling sheds, compound and buildings are clean and well maintained. Proper house and records keeping is maintained in the leaf centres
    • Ensure compliance to QHSE procedures and policies for the company and client’s
    • At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct
    • Carry out any other assignment as may be advised from time to time

    Qualifications

    • Hold a Diploma in Statistics, Business Administration, or any a business-related course
    • Have at least 1 year working experience in data management
    • Have a valid certificate of good conduct

    EHS Co-Ordinator and Logistics Officer

    Job Description
    Main duties and responsibilities:

    • Shall facilitate strategic intent of the company and of the client on QHSE
    • Project’s local day-to-day implementation of OIMS and clients EHS systems
    • Ensuring records associated with HSE, Security and Sustainability arrangements as specified in reference OIMS/EHS systems are maintained.
    • Ensure that all open actions are closed in a timely manner by coordinating with key account manager, local management, and Country OI Manager.
    • Escalating any Health & Safety, Environmental and Sustainability problems that cannot be resolved locally via the OI reporting structure and clients reporting system structure.
    • Create framework for an integrated management system
    • Tailor procedures and processes for reliability and maintainability
    • Assist line management with the implementation of relevant ISO systems – where applicable
    • Create quality, safety and environmental awareness at all staff levels
    • Perform internal audits and assessments
    • Implement non-conformance reporting and a corrective/preventative action system and follow-up all corrective, remedial actions and complaints

    Qualifications

    • NEBOSH International General Certificate (added advantage)
    • 2 Years quality management system experience
    • 2 Years safety management system experience
    • Have a valid certificate of good conduct
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills – grassroot experience preferred.
