    Finance Associate

    Kofa is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Associate who will play a critical role in setting up and managing the accounting function in Kenya. You will work closely with the Financial Accountant and CFO to ensure accurate financial records, compliance with local regulations, and smooth financial operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to join an ambitious, mission-driven company at an early stage of its Kenyan operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Set up accounts for Kofa Kenya, in collaboration with the Financial Accountant and CFO.
    • Maintain accurate and timely financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
    • Prepare and file statutory returns (e.g., VAT, PAYE, corporate tax) in accordance with Kenyan regulations.
    • Support the preparation of management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.
    • Assist in cash flow management, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.
    • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, investor requirements, and audit processes.
    • Liaise with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax consultants, banks, and suppliers.
    • Provide financial data and analysis to support decision-making by the Financial Accountant, CFO, and wider leadership team.
    • Support process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and transparency in financial operations.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • Professional accounting qualification or progress towards one (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred.
    • 2+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit, ideally in a high-growth or start-up environment.
    • Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax, accounting, and statutory compliance requirements.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    Customer Support Associate

    • Kofa is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Customer Support Associate to assist our customers with issues that could arise when using our products and services.
    • This role involves resolving customer queries, recommending solutions and guiding product users through features and functionalities. To be successful in this role, you should be an excellent communicator who’s able to earn our clients’ trust. You should also be familiar with using help desk software.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Respond to customer queries in a timely and accurate way, via phone, email or chat.
    • Identify customer needs and help customers use specific features.
    • Analyze and report product malfunctions by testing different scenarios or impersonating users on our platform.
    • Update our internal database and the helpdesk system with information about technical issues and useful discussions with customers.
    • Monitor customer complaints on social media and reach out to provide assistance.
    • Share feature requests and effective workarounds with team members.
    • Inform customers about new features and functionalities.
    • Follow up with customers to ensure their technical issues are resolved.
    • Gather customer feedback and share with our Product, Operations and Sales and Marketing teams.
    • Work closely with operations to reactively and proactively manage customer problems.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field.

    Experience:

    • 2+ Experience as a Customer Support Associate or similar Customer Support role.
    • Understanding of working of CRM systems.
    • Familiarity with the mobility industry will be a plus.
    • Experience using help desk software and remote support tools.
