    Field Extension Officers

    CITAM Seeks to recruit two (2) Christians who are experienced and self-motivated to fill the position of Field extension officers, who will be responsible for the day-to-day project implementation and monitoring by coordinating activities and ensuring effective communication and feedback with communities to improve agricultural practices and project outcomes with CITAM Marsabit Agriculture and Livelihood Improvement (Mali) Project.

    The position reports to the Projects coordinator.  

    Key duties and responsibilities:   

    1. Supporting the coordination of project activities to ensure timely and effective implementation at the grassroots level
    2. Mobilizing and recruiting project participants, including identification and support of farmer groups.
    3. Conducting agronomic trainings based on established curricula and establishing demonstration plots for practical learning.
    4. Providing ongoing technical support to farmers on crop husbandry and sustainable farming practices.
    5. Strengthening market linkages between farmers and new or existing market players. Supporting field-level monitoring and evaluation activities, including data collection, data entry analysis, and reporting.
    6. Documenting success stories, participating in community feedback sessions, and contributing to project learning and adaptation.
    7. Preparing regular reports and participating in review and planning meetings.

    Requirements

    Requirements and Qualification  

    1. Must be a born-again, mature Christian who conforms to the CITAM statement of faith.
    2. A bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Agribusiness, Agriculture economics/extension, Social Science/Development studies or any other related field.
    3. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Agricultural and livelihood projects
    4. Previous working experience in a rural setting, and ease in dealing with communities showing understanding of the areas in which they will be operating.
    5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Agriculture and Livelihood Technical Officer

    CITAM Seeks to recruit a born-again Christian who is experienced and self-motivated to fill the position of an Agriculture and Livelihood Technical Officer, who will be responsible for the effective management and coordination of agriculture and livelihoods interventions with CITAM Marsabit Agriculture and Livelihood Improvement (Mali) Project.

    The position reports to the Projects coordinator

    Key duties and responsibilities:   

    1. Contributing to the development and execution of agricultural and livelihoods strategies in collaboration with the project team.
    2. Providing technical input to inform project planning, budgeting, and implementation.
    3. Building partnerships with relevant government agencies, NGOs, and community stakeholders.
    4. Supporting the identification, mobilization, and vetting of project beneficiaries including smallholder farmers.
    5. Designing and conducting training sessions and developing relevant capacity-building materials.
    6. Overseeing the implementation of project activities to ensure quality and timely delivery.
    7. Participating in project monitoring, evaluation, and learning, including baseline assessments and documentation.
    8. Preparing inputs for project reports and participating in regular project review meetings.
    9. Supervising and supporting field extension officers, including identifying training needs and tracking performance.

    Requirements

    Requirements and qualifications  

    1. Must be a born-again, mature Christian who conforms to the CITAM statement of faith.
    2. A Degree in either of Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agriculture economics/extension, Social Science/Development studies or any other related field.
    3. Minimum of 6 years’ experience in Agricultural and livelihood projects
    4. Extensive knowledge of the agricultural sector, with a strong focus on climate resilience Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    5. Highly proficient in writing clear, comprehensive, and impactful reports
    6. Knowledge of monitoring, evaluation and learning strategies

    Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer

     Key duties and responsibilities:   

    1. Collaborate with the Project Coordinator to ensure the gathering of essential data for an effective M&E system that will be used to evaluate project strengths, weaknesses, gaps, and opportunities and to report on partnership commitments.
    2. Conduct data quality assessments in collaboration with the project partners
    3. Conduct regular monitoring and technical support visits to project locations to evaluate progress against approved plans and to provide feedback and recommendations for timely improvement
    4. Assess project risks and concerns, engage with the Project Implementation Lead and stakeholders, and look for solutions.
    5. Collaboratively prepare and submit accurate and timely reports, to project stakeholders.
    6. Work closely with all technical project teams to improve project quality through improved data management systems and processes, serve as the focal point for all project assessments, and lead the program's Design, Monitoring, and Evaluation (DM&E) processes and evidence collecting.

    1. Must be a born-again, mature Christian who conforms to the CITAM statement of faith.
    2. A bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Monitoring & Evaluation, Development Studies, or relevant field.
    3. Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Projects monitoring and evaluation.
    4. Knowledge and experience in using statistical packages for analysing complex datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, sage etc)
    5. Knowledge of monitoring, evaluation and learning strategies
    6. Previous work Experience in a parachurch organization will be an added advantage.
    7. Ability to work well and collaboratively with a team, lead own work, and disseminate information on a timely basis.
