    Bancassurance Officer

    Job Purpose

    • Reporting to the Principal Officer, Bancassurance, the Bancassurance Officer will be responsible for overseeing the Bank’s bancassurance underwriting/operational functions as a way of streamlining service delivery and offering quality services to customers. He/she will provide quality underwriting outcomes for the business lines through effectively maintaining underwriting standards and providing quality client service. The ideal candidate must be multi skilled with ability to mentor and train junior underwriters.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee retail retention portfolio in line with business strategy.
    • Monitor underwriting teams, performance and providing mentoring to achieve personal and department production goals.
    • Identify portfolio risks resulting from client’s underlying business practices, underwriting investigations or fraud exposure.
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to initiate marketing strategies and meet market penetration and business growth objectives.
    • Receive cover requests either directly from customers or from the branches and advise on required documentation and/or data: collect relevant documents and data needed to underwrite an insurance cover as requested by client, branch or Bank.
    • Confirm to the Bank’s Credit department that policies placed to cover borrowed facilities meet letter of offer conditions capturing the expiry dates, risk addresses, sums insured and other relevant details.
    • Ensure safe custody of copies policy documents issued by the insurance company and dispatch duplicate to the client/branch.
    • Manage customer service issues for the duration of cover.
    • Report any claims notified and ensure settlement as per set out agreements.
    • Provide premium payment reports to the insurers and request for business statements for reconciliation purposes.
    • Management of Bancassurance Sales Executives by ensuring proper sales management.
    • Provide competitive quotations to all customers promptly within the standards set.
    • Membership management; additions and cancellations.
    • Scheme set up, benefits set up and membership updates in the system
    • Timely and accurate debiting of premium and cover conditions and that the documentation is in compliance with set standards and procedures.

    Qualifications and Competencies

    • Holder of university degree in Insurance, Actuarial or any business related field from a recognized institution.
    • Diploma in Insurance will be added advantage.
    • Should have a minimum of at least three to four years’ relevant experience.
    • Should have excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Should possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Should be confident, self-driven with strong negotiation skills.
    • Should have good customer service orientation and commercial awareness

    Credit Analyst

    Job Purpose

    • Reporting to the Manager, Credit Analysis, the Credit Analyst will be responsible for appraising loan applications to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit and ensuring compliance with the Bank’s Credit policy and Central Bank of Kenya Prudential Guidelines.

    Key responsibilities and accountabilities

    • Analyze credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit.
    • Ensure compliance to all lending procedures as stipulated in the Bank’s Credit policy manual and monitor various financing products advanced to ensure compliance in relation to their satisfactory conduct.
    • Provide technical support to the branch business development teams on all credit relatedissues.
    • Participate in the preparation of Board Papers for presentation to the Board Credit Committee and Management Papers and reports for presentation to the Executive Committee.
    • Conduct market intelligence researches and prepare reports for presentation to the Credit Committee, review of the various lending sectors and make recommendations for adaptation.
    • Liaise with representatives of credit associations and other businesses to exchange information concerning credit ratings and forwarding addresses, verify financial and credit transactions.

    Qualifications and Competencies

    • Holder of bachelor’s degree in a business related field from a recognized university.
    • Possession of professional banking qualifications such as AKIB and CPA (K) will be an added advantage.
    • Should have at least four years’ banking experience with good knowledge of effective credit analysis and related analytical skills to identify and evaluate underlying risk elements of lending.
    • Should possess excellent credit and financial analysis skills.
    • Should have excellent communication, report writing and presentation skills.
    • Should have great interpersonal skills, good customer service orientation and commercial awareness.

    Internal Audit Officer

    Job Purpose

    • Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, the Internal Audit Officer will be responsible for providing independent and objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the Bank’s operations and performance

    Key responsibilities and accountabilities

    • Conduct assurance reviews of the assigned banking operations and functional activities.
    • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the management controls over those operations.
    • Evaluate organizational units to ensure that they are performing their planning, accounting, custodial, risk management and control activities in compliance with applicable policies and procedures in a manner that is consistent with the bank’s mission and regulatory frameworks.
    • Assist/participate in the preparation of annual audit plan.
    • Plan and execute assigned engagements in accordance with accepted auditing standards.
    • Report engagement observation and make practical recommendations for corrective action to address unsatisfactory conditions, improving operations and reducing costs.
    • Perform special assignments as requested by management from time to time.

    Qualifications and Competencies

    • Holder of bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics from a recognized university.
    • Must possess professional qualifications as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Kenya.
    • Possession of professional qualifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) will be an added advantage.
    • Should be a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAK), Institute of Internal Auditors, (IIA) or any other relevant professional body
    • Should have a minimum of 5 (five) years’ relevant working experience in internal auditing in a financial institution or professional firm.
    • Should have working knowledge of Computer assisted audit techniques (CAATs) and ACL audit software will be added advantage.
    • Should have in depth knowledge of IFRSs, IIA Standards and banking industry regulatory framework.
    • Should have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

    Network & Systems Support Officer

    Job Purpose

    • Reporting to the ICT Infrastructure Manager, the Network & Systems Support Officer will be responsible for the installation, configuration, management, development and maintenance of an efficient, reliable ICT infrastructure, Systems, networks (both LAN and WAN) and technical services support, including the optimum deployment and utilization of ICT resources.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Configuration of ICT network, Servers, systems and equipment; including hardware, peripherals, and software and ensure efficient performance and deployment of appropriate business and support services.
    • Administration of ICT Infrastructure systems, and services. Administration duties includes but not limited to Virtualized platforms support, Active Directory object maintenance, troubleshooting, Mail server management, Domain Controllers, DNS, Windows Servers, Linux Servers, user authentication and other operational systems as needed
    • Design and implement new solutions and improve resilience of the current network and systems environment.
    • Manage the performance monitoring of ICT resources and perform basic diagnosis and resolution of network infrastructure, servers, and software and hardware faults.
    • Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications; monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
    • Implementation of tools to aid in improving operation efficiencies in monitoring and infrastructure management
    • Troubleshoot system and network problems and diagnose and solve hardware or software faults; replace parts as and when required.
    • Ensure that up to date systems configurations and documentations are kept for all ICT network and systems infrastructure and provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports; following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system.
    • Management of LAN and WAN infrastructure, including telephony (IP, E1 and VOIP transport) QoS, and VPN.
    • Provide technical support for people using the network and day to day administration and monitoring of network use.
    • Generate various reports as required.
    • Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor/Manager or HOD.

    Qualifications and Competencies

    • Be a holder of Bachelor’s degree in either Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology related field.
    • Must possess at least one professional qualification such as C.C.N.A, or M.C.S.E or HP Aruba Certified Switching professional.
    • Must have at least two years’ working experience and be involved in planning, systems analysis, design, implementation, and support of LAN/WAN infrastructure.
    • Should have at least one year’s experience in Operating Systems Administration in Linux and Windows
    • Experience in Storage and Virtualization platforms will be an added advantage.
    • Should possess excellent communication, decision making, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Should be of sound judgment and have ability to apply technical expertise to resolve a range of issues/problems and provide technical guidance to users.
