    PharmTech Trainee Program

    Description

    • The PharmTech Trainee Program (PTP) is a 4-month internship program that offers aspiring pharmacy professionals hands-on experience and a solid foundation in the field of pharmacy. Each trainee will be matched to a manager and a mentor throughout the program. Our trainees will have the unique opportunity to learn and apply skills in various facets of pharmacy operations, from dispensing medications, to customer service and clinical pharmacy services.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support pharmacists in daily tasks such as dispensing medications, managing inventory, and providing patient counseling.
    • Prepare and dispense prescription medications accurately following established protocols and under the guidance of the pharmacist.
    • Provide medication counselling to patients, including instructions on proper dosage, administration, and potential side effects.
    • Assist in reconciling medication lists to ensure accuracy and continuity of care for patients transitioning between healthcare settings.
    • Dispense and update the DDR/Dangerous Drug Register in real time. 
    • Receive, review, and bill prescription orders through the pharmacy system, ensuring completeness and accuracy of information.
    • Learn to dispense and process insurance prescription orders, and all billing requirements attached to them.
    • Assist in compounding medications, including sterile and non-sterile preparations, following established guidelines and safety protocols.
    • Assist in managing pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and restocking medications and supplies to ensure availability and minimize waste.
    • Educate patients on medication adherence, proper use of medical devices (e.g., inhalers, insulin pens), and lifestyle modifications to support their overall health and well-being.
    • Ensure the safety of Inventory from the elements of wastage such as expiry/theft.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including Chronic Client File record.

    Eligibility

    • A recent Diploma or Degree graduate in pharmacy.
    • Fluent in the English Language.
    • Must have the legal right to live and work in Kenya.
    • Not more than 2 years of years of relevant experience.

    • We are seeking an experienced Sales Specialist to join our Franchise business (QualityRx) team at mPharma. The ideal candidate should have fieldwork experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong desire to deliver on targets. You will be responsible for engaging client businesses (B2B) to increase the network and footprint of franchise businesses. This role is located in Nairobi and would require a lot of traveling within Kenya.

    • mPharma is looking for a Cashier in its Retail Franchise division to manage customer transactions accurately and efficiently. This role is located at Mlolongo, Kenya.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems.
    • Accept cash, credit, and debit payments and provide accurate change to customers.
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the cash register area and surrounding areas.

    Primary Care Nurse

    Position Description

    • mPharma is looking for a responsible and trustworthy individual with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and exceptionally high work standards to join our Primary Care team. This role will be central to driving our primary care strategy by increasing access to healthcare to improve the health status of individuals and communities through our community pharmacies. The nurse will be primarily responsible for offering basic health screenings and counselling to clients visiting our community pharmacies to utilise our virtual doctor service, mutti Doctor.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the day-to-day operations of mutti doctor at the pharmacy level
    • Own the implementation of weekly community-based screening for the assigned pharmacy and lead a small team of community nurses
    • Educate individuals on test results and diagnoses, and provide general health education to improve health literacy and encourage healthy lifestyle choices.
    • Ensure timely, appropriate and accurate data collection and entry 
    • Work collaboratively with a team to increase registration and footfall to community pharmacies by promoting the availability of healthcare services.

    Diabetes Nurse Coach - Kenya

    Position Description

    • mPharma is looking for a responsible and trustworthy nurse with exceptionally high work standards to join our Health Services team. You would be responsible for continuous client care and follow-ups under our various primary health care initiatives.    

     Key Responsibilities

    •   Educating, coaching, and mentoring of patients under specific disease management programs, following a standardized yet personalized approach, with regular specified interactions to assist patients with adherence.
    •   Track all client progress and outcomes for appropriate follow-up.
    •   Submission of accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on all activities.
    •   Ensure test results are recorded following protocols and alerting providers about abnormal results.  
    • Carry out activities related to ensuring patients obtain optimal clinical outcomes.
